I curled up around my pillow, unwilling to move. The warmth of my blankets nestled around me and my heavy eyelids drooped. I was almost asleep when suddenly something hit the back of my head. Sitting up, I rubbed my head and stared accusingly at Dean.
He stood, leaning against the doorframe with an incredibly big smirk on his face. I looked down at the bed covers and saw a bright yellow banana innocently resting against my leg. I raised an eyebrow and looked back at Dean.
"A banana?" I asked in disbelief. "Really?"
"A 'Good morning, thank you for waking me up,' would've been nice," Dean commented, picking at his nails. I rolled my eyes and threw the banana back at him. He caught it casually as I stood up from the bed sheets. My shoulder throbbed and I rubbed it, trying to ease the pain. When I looked at Dean, he was watching me.
"What?" I asked, annoyed.
"Nothing," he replied quickly. He pulled the peel off the banana and slowly took a bite, filling his mouth almost to the brim with it. I looked away hastily. That was definitely not a normal way to eat a banana.
I walked to my closet and started to reach for one of my suits when I remembered today was Friday and the boss had given everyone the day off. "What time is it anyway?" I asked. I heard chewing for a second behind me, and I grabbed some jeans before Dean answered.
"It's like one already," he replied. I spun around just in time to see him take another bite of the banana.
"One?" I asked. I checked my watch, which showed 1:05 pm. It was the longest I'd slept since high school. I glanced back at Dean who, thankfully, had finished his banana. "Wow. Okay, so today's my day off. What about you, are you working?"
Dean snorted as if that was a ridiculous question. "Come on man, it's Friday. Thousands of young boys looking to get some, plus my regulars. Yeah, I'm working," he replied.
I rolled my eyes again and dropped my sweatpants, stepping into my jeans. For some reason they felt a little tighter than usual, but I shrugged it off. I grabbed a random shirt and pulled it on. It just happened to be my only tank that said "SUN'S OUT, GUNS OUT" on the front.
Dean laughed at my choice of clothing. "Shut up," I said, but I pulled it over my head and grabbed a different shirt. This one was a dark blue and had a pretty deep V neck, but not as deep as some I had seen.
I walked into the kitchen, still surprised not to see beer bottles littering every part of the room. Dean hopped up on the counter and grabbed an orage, tossing it back and forth between his hands. I leaned against the fridge and folded my arms.
"So, before the rush of 'thousands of young boys looking to get some,' flood the streets of New York, what should we do?" I asked Dean. I wasn't really used to having a roomate yet, much less a gay one who provocatively ate bananas, but I'd feel rude if I just plopped on the couch and watched Supernatural all day.
"Well...there is this one show I've been dying to see..." Dean said, glancing longingly at the huge flat screen TV on the wall.
"Shoot," I said, crossing my fingers and praying it wasn't Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
"Supernatural's on, and I really wanted to see the latest episode," he said, and I stared at him.
"You're staying," I said quickly, without thinking. I laughed, trying to play it off as a joke, but he looked at me, his eyes wide.
"Really?" he asked.
"Well...let's get to the end of the week first. It's still early, but I like having you around." I said truthfully. Dean winked at me.
