I felt the warm touch of sunlight as it filtered through the window and onto my face. I smiled and snuggled closer to the warm body I was holding.

My eyes snapped open.

I stared in disbelief at the sleeping form of Alex, laying peacefully next to me in my bed. Suddenly, last night came rushing back to me, and I groaned. I buried my face in the pillow next to his head.

I was such an idiot. Could I have been any more pathetic?

Suddenly, I felt him shift next to me. I propped myself up on my elbows and looked at him. His eyes were still closed, but a soft smile settled on his features. I hadn't moved my arm from where it was wrapped around his waist, and I grinned.

Slowly, I found the bottom of his shirt. Lifting it up a little, I slid my hand under the soft material. I lay back down where I was before I woke up and watched his features carefully as I began to trace patterns into the warm skin on his hip.

He stirred again, but still didn't wake up. I continued to trace hearts and circles into his skin while I moved closer and closed my eyes again. My fingertips continued to lightly brush his skin until suddenly another hand slapped mine away.

Alex groaned and turned on his side to face me. I looked up at him, but his eyes were still closed.

"That tickles," he murmured into the pillow. His voice was groggy and it didn't sound like he had gotten much sleep the night before. I guessed I was to blame for that.

Sighing, I ran my fingers through his hair, playing with the soft brown locks. A piece fell into his eyes and I gently brushed it away. Alex smiled and one of his arms found its' way around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

I watched him for a while before my stomach started to complain. I sighed and pushed Alex's arm off of me. I rolled farther away and grabbed my phone. I was about to stand up when arms reached up and grabbed my shoulders, pulling me down hard.

I half-laughed and half-groaned. I was hungry, but if Alex wanted me to stay, I would. I lay still as he draped an arm over me again. His head rested on my chest, and I propped my chin up on the top of his head. I unlocked my phone and scrolled through my tumblr feed as I waited for Alex to finally wake up.

A few hours, fourteen refreshes, a lot of tweets, and a handful of pictures later, Alex was finally waking up. He sat up and yawned, rubbing his eyes. I tucked my phone into the pocket of the sweatpants I was wearing.

He looked back at me as he stretched, and I laughed at the face he was making. He rolled his eyes, and I finally got up to stretch my legs.

Neither of us said a word about sleeping in the same bed.

"You hungry?" I asked, hovering by the door. Alex nodded and grabbed his own phone. I opened the door and walked to the kitchen, wincing at the sudden pain in my backside. I took my steps more slowly, being careful not to rip my stiches. The pain wasn't as bad as before, but I could only aggravate it.

"Are you doing okay?" Alex asked. I jumped. I hadn't realized he was right behind me.

I waved his question away. "I'm fine. I just would rather not go back to the hospital."

"You and me both," Alex said. I turned around, a questioning look on my face.

"What is it with you and hospitals anyway?" I asked. Alex looked away.

"It's nothing. Just something stupid from my childhood," he said quickly. He brushed past me and walked into the kitched. He pulled some toaster waffles out and stuck four in the toaster. I smiled at his choice of breakfast.
