"No," Adrian instantly denies my claim and shakes his head, "I am not his mate because: one, I would have known, and two, it is uncommon to see an Alpha with another Alpha due to dominant issues. Most commonly, Alphas are with betas, but if the Alpha finds his or her Omega, then the Alpha will be with his or her Omega."

"Alphas can't be with Alphas? How would he have known if Niall was his mate?" Intrigue floods my veins as Adrian explains his response. "How does he know all this? What else does he know?"

I shake my head quickly and remind myself to stay concentrated, so I file the information I've gained away and push back the interest ready to sweep me off my feet.

"Why did you listen to him, then?" I can't help but ask.

"Don't you know, Alpha Female Styles? It is tradition for an Alpha to eliminate another Alpha who has attempted to court that Alpha's Omega," I double over when Adrian reveals this "tradition", but he continues regardless of my response. "When I was presented the merciful opportunity to avoid death, which Alpha Horan would have been entitled to, I happily accepted it and escaped."

My head is swimming from this sudden knowledge, but disgust still manages to ting my thoughts, "What kind of tradition is that? It sounds more like a battle of death than a way to claim ownership."

However, before my thoughts can completely swallow me, Adrian speaks.

"In addition, Alphas, very similar to Betas and Omegas, have a voice they use to create obedience amongst chaos," Adrian once again manages to shock me with new information. "Alpha Horan used his Alpha Voice-and no one, whether it be pack or stranger, can disobey it."

I can barely think.

Every thing Adrian has told me is hurdling around my mind and disorientating my life as I know it, and I can't even manage to speak.

"Voices? Omegas have them, too? I thought they were just warm bodies to use!" Shaking my head over and over, I desperately try to cling to some sense of normality against this turbulent tide.

"Why," I hesitant as the newfound knowledge tries to pull me back in before breaking free and pushing forward, "Why do you keep calling me Alpha Female? I'm just an Om-that thing."

Stumbling over the word Adrian had used so freely, I move my attention from the ground to Adrian and focus on his face-nothing else, especially not on my thoughts.

I wait for him to speak, but he looks to his right and tenses up before lowering his head in a submissive posture.

"It was a pleasure and honor to meet you, Alpha Female Styles," Adrian calmly states as he keeps his head bowed and voice neutral. "I bid you a prosperous relationship and pack. I will no longer pursue you as I have done, and I promise I shall unenroll immediately."

"Wait, Adrian," I try to regain Adrian's attention, but he straightens his back, steps around me, and leaves without a backward glance.

"Adrian!" I call out his name, but his relentless pace never ceases.

In the blink of an eye, he disappears out of sight, and most likely out of my life-forever.

"Why'd he leave suddenly?" I wondered as I look to my right only to freeze when I see Niall turning and walking away. "Damn you, Niall! It's Horan! Nial-Horan!"

Screaming out in frustration and mourning, I bask in the echo before collecting myself and stomping towards the stairs.

"You have business next," My conscious helpfully reminded, which only made me scream again as I stormed away from the stairs to my fourth period.
