Lyla tossed back and forth. Eyebrows pulled together in distress as she cried in her sleep. "Stop...stop...Peter please...stop..." she mewled.

Peter Pan woke to the soft whimpers and felt his heart break a little. He had made a mistake. He knew that subconsciously. And now he had to deal with the results. He gently shook Lyla's shoulder until she was awake. Lyla opened her eyes and stared at him like a deer in headlights. She stopped breathing and was simply frozen. That is until Pan moved to hold her.

She squeaked and nearly fell off the bed, but Pan caught her around the waist and held her at an arms length. She never took her eyes off of him scared that if she did for just a second... he'd pounce. He looked at her sympathetically with seemingly innocent, sparkling eyes. His eyebrows pulled together apologetically.

"Lyla please don't be scared of me," the Boy King whispered in vain as he held her tentatively, afraid of what he could do to her. Peter Pan, the most powerful magic wielder in all the realms, was only scared of one thing: himself. It scared him that he could snap so easily and hurt her and that he already had numerous times. Like the night before.

The girl gasped at the absurd request. She felt anger mix with the fear. "How can I not?" She hissed venomously. She yanked herself from his weak grip and stood. Pan frowned deeper in displeasure.

Peter Pan sat up slowly. "Angel, I understand you're upset, but it was necessary," he asserted. Lyla's mouth gaped open incredulously. He added," You needed to learn to stop challenging me. It was for your own good."

Lyla simmered in rage. She pushed down the fear that crawled in her throat. She refused to be treated like this. She wasn't an object for Pan to toss around and toy with however he liked. She was a person and she had rights and feelings.

Lyla let her fury burn red hot, unchecked so she could override her fear. She spat," Screw you Pan! What the hell is wrong with you? How on Earth can you justify what you did?"

The King of Neverland winced at the disrespectful words, but forced himself to remain calm. Lyla was acting out and it was understandable. "But it was effective. I highly doubt you'll break anymore rules. I was simply proving a point Lyla: that I have control over you and everyone on this island," Pan responded, clearly ruffled by her disdain towards him. He'd unrealistically thought that she would forgive him just like that. After all, she'd forgiven him for all the other horrors he'd committed: the Indians, Declan, hurting her, etc.

The Lost Girl scoffed in disbelief. She covered her face with her hands, her hysteria rising. She couldn't even fathom how delusional the boy in front of her was. She shook her head in disbelief. He was supposed to care about her, in his own twisted way, but never traumatize her like that.

She cried in frustration,"You did that just to prove a point? Do you have any idea how... how... traumatic that was?"

Peter Pan bit his lip. He said," Angel, I know what I did was....excessive. And maybe I could've gone about the situation in a better way..." He didn't get a chance to finish because Lyla cut him off.

"How could you do that to me, Peter? I was scared out of my mind! ... I trusted you..." she whispered out the end, choking on it. She felt so stupid for putting her faith in a monster. She wanted so badly to believe he cared about her. She wanted so badly for someone to care about her.

"I-I knew that you were a bit volatile and pretty violent but I never imagined you would do something like that..." She choked a bit on her words and her lip quivered ever so slightly.
