Brandon's point of view
"What do you mean no?" I asked and Gabrielle looked up at me with a questioning expression plastered on her face.
She looked adorable with the fork in her mouth and one small dimple on her cheek.
Rosy pale skin, thick brows and the curl of red painted lips over white teeth. She looked as beautiful as the first time I saw her.
I wasn't going to get drunk that night but did anyway. I saw her leaning on the bar alone, desperately looking around as if calling for a companion.
And I took that as an invitation.
She wasn't exactly a great dancer, she's actually one of the worse if not the worst. I ignored the constant tapping of her heels on my shoes, her green eyes and cupid bow lips kept my mind occupied.
And then my already dead soul came back to life, and it went like, "Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you."
I'm glad I caught her that morning before she ran away like some little whore after a one-night stand.
In fact, I respect her so much that it did hurt me physically when she poked my shoulder to see if I'm awake. Or maybe it was her nails.
I like her nails. I like how her blonde hair didn't match her brown brows too. I like many things about Gabrielle.
And I think it may be because I like her that I started liking all of these random things.
"Oh, Gabrielle," I rolled my eyes at the sudden feeling of her leg violently brushing mine.
"Sorry," she smiled moving her leg away, "these heels are so painful!" She whined and I chuckled.
"Stop talking to Jace," I warned and she frowned, "weren't you two like really good friends as he said?"
"Were, that's past tense," I said trying not to lose control and yell or unconsciously throw a fork and cut her head into pieces.
Yes, a fork can do that.
"Are you afraid that I may like him more than I like you?" She smirked as if she had just roasted me and I leaned closer with a similar smirk, "you just confessed that you like me."
Her eyes widened and I could see her face turning red already. Passing the napkin over her lips and carelessly clearing the red lipstick, she looked back at me, "don't get your hopes too high."
My eyes wandered around and I spotted a small bar so people would refill their glasses if there are no servers available.
"I'll go get us more to drink," I said standing up and walking to the bar.
"Two glasses of Gin and Tonic," I ordered leaning forward. I shrugged my hand away at the feeling of a soft yet cold touch pass over the veins popping on my arm.
"What the hell ar-" I stopped when honey brown eyes met mine. The woman smiled showing the top row of her teeth.
Black hair, crooked teeth, full pink lips. What is Julie doing here?
"Doesn't seem like you missed me," she pouted and I glared at her.
"Cut the crap, what do you want?" I snapped and her eyes drifted to Gabrielle who was playing with her fingers under the eyes of the servants and a group of teenagers behind her.
"Is she prettier?" Julie asked and I stared at her trying to figure out what she's here for. She may be a great mind manipulator but hey! I'm Brandon Anderson, nobody beats me at my game.
"You said that you don't fall in love though," she twiddled a dark strand around her finger and leaned closer so I could feel her breath on my neck.
I backed away before she could speak and she moved closer again, "she didn't enter our room yet? You didn't take her to our room, didn't you?"
"Leave us alone, Julie. You had your revenge." I glared at her one last time, holding the two glasses and walked back to our table.
I made sure to shoot death glares at the boys watching Gabrielle's back before sitting.
"It took you three minutes and seven seconds to bring two glasses of alcohol, who's she?" she asked glancing at her watch then in Julie's direction.
I turned around, acting clueless of what she was talking about. Julie was waved at us and Gabrielle gave a weak innocent smile.
"You should expect to see women hitting on me if we go out so often," I smirked and she rolled her eyes.
"Yes, roll them to the back of your head so maybe you'd find your brain." I mocked and she laughed gulping down the burning liquid.
"Gab is jealous of the sweet lady?" I imitated her voice from last time when she was drunk and she playfully hit my leg under the table.
"How adorable," I chuckled bringing my legs under the chair and watched her smile.
I glanced at her watch, time to leave.
We walked past Julie who decided to smile at us, she's become a devil. But don't we all change after our first heartbreak?
