chapter 27

"You're one of them!" The woman screamed, fear filled her eyes and the insides of her throat seemed to bleed with every word she yelled.

"I'm just a girl, my name is Gabrielle." I introduced myself, "who are they?" I asked.

"You're pale! Your eyes are empty, how can you look at me? Don't look at me!" She yelled hysterically before wiping red tears from her eyes.

"Is this blood?" I pointed at the red liquid that ran down her cheek. Before I knew it, she exploded.

No, she literally exploded! Like a fucking bomb.

Horrified, I watched her body mix with the ground and come in union with the earth. How did this happen? I ran with what remained of stability in my legs. I was shaking, my whole body was shaking.

The forest was a maze. Whichever way you go, you always find yourself where you started. I hopelessly sat down with my back against a tree to get a deep breathe and rethink what just happened.

So I ran from Jace because, while making out, he announced my death. But I can't be dead, I'm alive! In the forest I met a girl who told me that my eyes were empty and was scared, then, I don't know if that's even believable, exploded and every part of her body was swallowed in the ground.

This is abnormal. This is not real. This isn't happening.

I shook my head sideways trying to get the image out of my mind but I knew it needs more than this to forget about it.

Where am I going to go?

"Gabrielle!" I heard a voice yell from afar, "Gabrielle!"

It sounded familiar but I couldn't work out who's voice it is. "Gabrielle!" He continued to shout but I refused to move or answer his calls.

"Stop hiding!"

From behind a tree, I could see the tall figure of Jace walking. I expected him to be angry but every time I got the chance to see his face expressions, he was smiling.

"I forgot to tell you something, Gabrielle."

A wave of electricity ran my body as he pronounced my name. "Brandon killed me in our past life." And it was at that moment that I started to run in the opposite direction from him. He wants to kill me.

"I can hear your thoughts!" So this explains how Brandon could answer whatever question I had in my mind without speaking, "as I told you already, you are dead."

I didn't stop running and I knew he was behind me but as long as he didn't catch me, I'm safe.

Coming to a deserted street, I ran along the sidewalk to see where it gets me. I spotted a car so I raised my arm to stop it and to my good luck, it did.

The man inside opened the passenger door and I hopped in. Sitting uncomfortably, I let out a breath of relief and looked outside the window to have one last look of the forest.

"Brandvold, please. I'll pay you much if you get me there." I said.

I turned to smile at the man but it quickly faded away when I saw a twitched smirk on Blake's lips. "What's up, honey."

He's just like Jace, they want to kill me!

He started the engine and the car roamed to life. I turned the door's small handle in a failing attempt to get out but stopped when my eyes landed on the outside mirror of his car. I screamed and quickly covered my face with my hands.

Blake laughed sarcastically, "one step closer to being reincarnated," I looked at him, "how are you not scared?"

"Honey, it takes more than blank white eyes to scare me," he replied. I looked deeper into the mirror, my slim fingers almost peeling my skin off to get a better view of my new creepy eyes.

"What's the next step?" I asked and he sighted, "I haven't been reincarnated but I believe you'll lose consciousness."

And at that very exact moment, I lost consciousness.

I wrote the last chapter of Room94, it's safe to say that the end is very close.

I may write a Brandon's POV first but I haven't decided yet.
