The cacophony of voices and splashes greeted my ears at the swimming pool.

It is always like this, I growled internally. I dropped my eyes to the pool water that lapped at the tiled edges.

Urine. They all pee in here and I know it. Now I'm supposed to swim in there and have fun.

Splashes, squeals, broad smiles, diving, floats, water slide, wave machine, squirt guns, life guards patrol, parents sitting at the side with laptops, iPads, iPods, e-readers, books, magazines, floor cluttered with bags, extra coats draped over white plastic chairs. Piped music, jump, hop, side step. The sun, the heat, sunscreen.

It was a mess and I hated mess.

You're here to be everything you're not! My mother's voice replayed in the back of my head making me take off the white shirt I had on my bikini and jump into the water.

No, I didn't really jump. I took the small steps they built for kids so they'd get used to the water quicker.

Oh, the sun, how much I hate it. I used my hand as a shelter from the burning rays and got under the water.

Once back in the air, I walked to the edge with my arms crossed over it and my legs swimming in the back.
I watched kids ran around the pool with water flying everywhere and most importantly on me.

I let out a sigh ready to leave when big feet stood in front of me. I looked up, one eye closed because of the sunlight and pouting.

"Good morning to you too," Jace greeted and his arm outstretched for me to get a hold of his hand. He pulled me out and waited for me to roll inside my towel.

"How was your night?" He asked as we sat at a table near the pool and ordered cola.

"I went on a date sorta thing," I said honestly and he raised his eyebrows.

"Was it with Brandon?"

"Yes."

Why do you care bruh?

"Aren't you afraid?" He asked and I furrowed my brows, "Brandon has nothing to do with your paranormal delusions, Jace."

"I swear-" I cut him off by standing and taking off the towel and replacing it with the shirt instead. I knew my body was still wet and I already saw how the fabric hugged my figure.

Even a blind man could see my bright yellow swimsuit. Jace looked me up and down before throwing the towel, successfully hitting my face, "Brandon wouldn't be happy to see you walking around the place in this. He's over protective." He commented before standing up and leaving.

I sighed and he turned again, "take care, Gabrielle."

Yes. As if I'll get kidnapped.

I rolled my eyes drying my hair with the towel and walking up the stairs, my wet flip flops making weird noises whenever they came in contact with the polished wood.

I felt a presence behind me and heard heavy footsteps. I turned around waiting for Brandon to jump out of nowhere in an attempt to scare me.

But there was no one.

I continued my way to the first floor jumping the stairs when a cold hand rested on my neck and pushed me so my cheek was against the wall. Another hand held my wrists to my back and a breath fanned my neck.

"Looks like Brandon has great choices when it comes to women," the stranger's low voice whispered in my ear then laughed making me shiver.

I couldn't see his face, all I knew was his voice and his very dark scented perfume. Definitely not someone I know.

"Let me go!" I managed to yell but his fingers tightened on my skin, "obedient. I like my ladies obedient."

I'd have guessed it was a random rape case that would be over once I hit him where the sun doesn't shine, but he mentioned Brandon, which made it seem like a revenge.

I'm not going to get through this alive.

"Who are you?" I breathed heavily, my body shaking and his leg pushed mine so I was standing straight.

"I like yellow."

"Doesn't seem like an answer," I said ironically and he pushed his knee violently on my thighs making me scream.

I felt his lips curve into a smile near my ear, "I'd love to hear that scream all night." I growled in disgust at the feeling of his wet tongue lick my neck then fix my earlobe between his teeth.

"Let me go," I repeated, a tear rolling down my cheek. The man laughed again, "we have to get room to continue this, don't we?" He said seductively before pulling something out of his jean pocket and covered my nose with it.

Inhaling the weird scent, I fell into a hole of darkness.

Brandon's point of view

"How dare you tell her about that!" I yelled at Jace and his tongue rolled inside his mouth, pushing his cheek out, "do you realize the danger you're putting her in?"

"She's in more danger if she doesn't know your story," he said, "I didn't tell her about the room, she wouldn't get in even if she's curious. I said nothing to awaken her curiosity."

"I saw Julie," I said and his eyes widened. Jace and I weren't friends but he was the only one I can trust right now, even if he wasn't worth it in our past lives.

"You didn't care about Julie before."

"Jace, I can't let anything happen to her. This is not Julie we're talking about, this is Gabrielle! It's different."

I walked around the room anxiously under the silent stare of Jace.

"I must go find her, I'll even lock her in my room to be sure she's safe," I said storming out of my room and took the way to hers.

"Brandon!" I heard a low pitched voice." I turned around watching Julie walk my way.
