Chapter 1:

Mia's POV:

"What is the term for water power?"

"Hydroelectric."

"What is the term for power produced by animal poop?"

"Biomass."

"What is the term-"

"Alyssa can we stop! I'm tired of studying!" I mumble throwing my hands in the air.

"Do you want to pass?"

"Yeah." I mutter.

"Then you have to study!" she says throwing her nose back into her science book.

Alyssa, my best friend since first grade. We've been through thick and thin together. We're kind of the opposite match. She's smarter, funnier, prettier, and more flirty with the guys. No wonder why she gets all of them. Me on the other hand. I'm the complete opposite. I'm not that smart, I'm not that funny, I'm horrible at flirting, and I'm not that pretty. I don't even know why we're friends. She must find something she likes in me. My mind wonders into Neverland. I look out my window, only to see the window of my next door neighbor, my best friend. "Hey Mia.", his vibrant emerald eyes glowing once he sees my face.

"Hey Kendall. Could I come in?" I ask leaning on the edge of his window.

"Is Alyssa over again?"

"Yeah." I sigh swinging my legs over the edge, hopping into his room.

Kendall Schmidt, the boy who was there with an extra crayon. The only one who actually cared about my feelings. Neighbors since forever. Friends forever.

"So what can I do for you?" Kendall says sitting on his bed, patting the spot next to him for me.

I didn't argue. I hopped on his bed, laying my head on his chest.

"I hate studying." I mumble.

"Doesn't everyone." he laughs.

"Apparently Alyssa doesn't."

"We'll she's strange."

"I just want our senior year to be over with." I sigh.

"I don't." he whispers.

My head rose from his warm chest.

"Why?" I question, cocking my head.

"Well - I - um -......
