Chapter 14:
Mia's POV:The day began, and it's slower than usual. Math is a drag, calculus which isn't my strongest suit. American History, just made me want to fall asleep. Gym, requiring you to do physical activity to get a grade. Well what if I'm mentally physical? Do they think about that, huh? When I got to Art I was just wishing for chorus. A pencil was gripped in my hand over my pad of paper. My mind went off to its mini paradise. The place where no one could judge me. Where I can just be me. The six minute bell awoke me from my daydream. I looked down at my pad. Hearts circled around one name. Kendall. I blushed a deep crimson, looking around to see if anyone was looking at it. I shut it and threw it in my bag. A smile erupted on my face when the bell rang. I pushed my way through the smooching teens, well most of them were smooching. I could see some tongue, followed by face eating, GROSS! My feet shuffled down the crowded hallways, as I reached the front lobby of the school. I stood by the main office waiting for Kendall.
"Hey Mia." Kendall said tapping me on the shoulder.
"Hey Ken." I hugged him around his waist as we began to walk to the chorus room.
"What are we working on today?" He ask twirling my hair.
"I don't know, whatever you want."
We entered, seeing the whole room was empty.
"Where is everyone?" I said looking around.
"They're in the band room, practicing there." A fidgety old voice announced from the back of the room.
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Sunda." Kendall greeted.
"I guess we'll head over to the band room then." I said turning on my heels towards the door.
"You two aren't going anywhere." She stated.
"I signed you two up to do the school talent show. And I want you two to practice." She smiled through her rosy cracked lips.
"Us, do the talent show?" I questioned. That's my biggest fear is standing up in front of a crowd, she knows that.
"Mrs. Sunda-"
"No buts! Now, pick a song that you two feel comfortable with, and begin practicing! I'm sure you will pick a great selection! Ta ta!" She waved going through the band and chorus connecting door.
I looked over at Kendall, he was just as shocked as I was. But it would be nice to do it.
"So, I guess we should pick a song." I shyly smiled.
"Yeah." He smiled, going to the supply closet, pulling out his cherry wood guitar.
I looked over at the computer, thinking of the perfect song. I got it! I ran to the computer, not enough time to sit. My excitement took over, as my eyes scanned the screen for the song.
"Kendall grab us microphones." I swatted.
I clicked play, and our song began.
