Becoming The New Avenger (Loki fan fiction)

I'm sorry

I was falling. Fast. I swear I could hear somebody shout something but I thought nothing of it. I opened my eyes and started to think about my family and the Avengers, about how they would grieve, if they would be angry at me for doing this, then I suddenly realised, I didn't want to die! When I came to this realisation I felt something tear my skin open, it felt like a scolding knife slash at my skin twice, but it was only for a second. I stopped falling and started gliding, I looked up and to my amazement, I had wings. They looked angelic. They were big, the combine length was the size of a grizzly bear on its hind legs. They were black, so dark yet delicate. I started to decline and see people pointing at me, I thought of how wings flap up and down and to my surprise I started to fly I thought it would have been harder than that.

Thor's POV.

As Y/N walked out the room we all felt bad but it was all necessary for the surprise party that we were going to throw for her in two days, all though I do think Tony is over doing it on the "ignoring her", I felt bad and I think Loki did too, but he was always 'hot and cold' with her, if that's how it's said. All of us heard her run toward the elevator while crying, I got up and went after her with Loki, whom I dragged along. We waited for the elevator to come back down to us from the roof where JARVIS said it was going. As soon as we got out the elevator we saw her standing at the edge of the building. Then she jumped. Loki rushed past me toward the edge but it was too late, he yelled 'NO' at the top of his lungs. Then we saw something emerge from her back, it was wings!

Natasha's POV.

We heard someone scream 'No' then suddenly we saw something shoot past the window, we all rushed toward where we saw something fall. "shit, it's Y/N!" Clint yelled as he rushed toward the elevator with Bruce and Tony, probably going to the lab to get things ready if she is hurt. "what is that?" Steve said. "they're wings!" I said a hint of shock laced my words as my mouth dropped open. "well this is going to be fun for her to explain" Steve said with a little grin.

Y/N POV.

I had no idea that I had wings, this was going to be fun training with these. I flew higher towards the roof, to my shock Loki was at the edge with pure relief on his face and next to him was Thor. I landed on the roof and looked up shyly, I didn't know if they was going to be angry or disappointed in me, instead Loki walked up to me and hugged me, he pushed some hair behind my ear and whispered 'I'm sorry, please forgive me' as he said that tears filled my eyes and I just collapsed to the ground and started to cry "I..I'm s..so...sorry", Thor came up to me and touched my shoulder, as he did my wings retracted, I arched my back and whimpered in pain. The tears finally stopped and I tried to stand up but I fell straight to the ground, the next thing I know I blacked out.
