Dark grey clouds hang low in the skies
The reflection of a hard life reflects in her eyes
She wills the clouds to let out their rainy cries
And the wind to let out its agonized sighs
"Don't worry child, it will be alright
You will be better again by tomorrow's night
Then we will see one of your favorite sights
And you will learn the true meaning of flight"
Words of past offenders echo in her mind
People who were once so gentle and kind
Turned on her with the first excuse they could find
She hadn't seen through their mask; she had been blind
"I wish to give a special note of gratitude
One without the slightest attitude
To one who has never once been rude
And has always found a way to find light in the crude"
The solitude of night and the differences in the day
Have caused her to once again change her old way
For the gods no longer listen to the words she has to say
They just let Fate send her whatever they may
"Look at me, trust me, take my hand
I'll take you away from this hell band
Just get on your feet, you must stand
I won't ever let you go, I am your new brand"
Bitter hatred went coursing through her veins
As the clouds above finally let go of their tearful rains
And she stared at the ground, waiting for the trains
So she could ride far, far away from these tear soaked plains
"I love you baby, I'll never leave you
That's one thing I could never do
Oh gods, if you only knew
You've brought my life into a whole new hue"
The pain brought her to her knees as she remembered his lies
Love had become something she had come to despise
All because of one man's painful demise
And how he had once treated her like his nightly prize
