Ellen hadn’t left her house in days. And soon, days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into 2 months. Emma had come and gone, but she was too busy in her married life to focus solely on Ellen.

Kian and the others had left 2 months ago exactly, and she had heard nothing since she saw Shane on that fateful day. There was no wonder that she hadn’t heard anything, as she had turned her phone off, and had unplugged her landline. She locked the door so no one could get in, and nothing could get out. Ellen was about to fall asleep again when the door bell rang. Ellen crept up to the door, and looking through the little peep hole, she saw Mark, Shane and Nicky standing there, solemn looks on their faces. Ellen told them to go away, but they wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Ellen walked away from the door, and sat on the sofa covering her ears so that she could no longer hear them. She looked up when there was an almighty bang, and the three of them tumbled through the door. They had knocked the door open, and sat on the floor rubbing their shoulders. Ellen stared in wonder as they rose up and looked at Ellen. Mark closed the almost broken door and followed the others in sitting down on the still torn sofa. Ellen couldn’t look them in the eyes. She had left her job, hadn’t eaten in weeks and was so thing that she looked as though she could snap in half if she bent her back.

The lads set to work fixing her. They made her shower and change. Whilst in the shower, they tidied her flat and placed a cover over her ripped sofa. They made her a drink and a bowl of soup. She came out to a completely different landscape. They were all sitting on the sofa; talking whilst listening to the CD they made for her, which was playing on the CD player. She looked around at smiled for the first time in months. They sat her down and made her drink the soup. It took her a while as she hadn’t eaten in a long time, but she eventually got through it.

 “Why did you come here?”

“Because we were worried about you” Nicky broke the silence with an answer.

“Why, I am not your problem”

“You are our friend, so you are our problem” Mark spoke next; it was as if they were taking it in turns to speak.

“Well, you are friends to be treasured”

“You won’t think that in a minute” Mark spoke again.

“Why not?”

“Because we have some bad news” Nicky spoke, and looked uneasy.

“What news? Tell me please” She directed the question at Shane this time, who hadn’t spoken yet.

“Something has happened with Kian”

“Like I care”

“He is back with Jodi, and they are renewing their wedding vows, next week”

“And you are telling me this because?”

“Because you love him”

“I don’t know what you mean”

“Yes you do, and he still loves you, he just won’t admit it”

“You didn’t come all this way to tell me that my ex is renewing some bloody vows did you?”

“No, not exactly. You are coming back with us, whether you like it or not”

“Why though?”

“Because you are the only one who can save Kian from Jodi”

“No way. I would like you to leave now, I can’t deal with this anymore, and she is his problem, not mine”

They left with their mission failed, and Ellen was left alone again. She mulled over her options, and after some careful thinking, some vodka and a photo of her with Kian and Koa, she decided that she was going to save her life. She made some phone calls and packed her bag. She was going to be in Ireland in a few hours, and she was prepared to fight Jodi to the death.
