As I previously said, they woke up in the same position that they fell asleep in. Kian woke up first, with Ellen’s auburn locks of hair tickling his bare chest. He stroked her arm and she stirred. He kissed her forehead and she woke up, kissed him on the lips and hugged him. They sat there for a few minutes, and sat up in bed. Kian got up first, made them a cup of tea each, and made sure that Koa was content. The small child was still fast asleep, so Kian returned into his bedroom, with Ellen sitting there drinking her cup of tea that he made her.

He joined her back under the covers, it was sunny in Ireland, but Kian was still a little chilly as he was only wearing a pair of boxers. They watched a bit of morning TV, which was thoroughly boring, so instead they chatted away. Eventually, they both showered and dressed, and Koa was awake. Ellen made him pancakes for breakfast, and Kian had some as well. After they had finished, Ellen was about to start washing up when the doorbell rang. Kian was outside playing with Koa, so she decided to answer it. The door swung open and Shane was standing there.

“Hello Ellen, you look happy this morning, did you do something nice last night”

“I only got married”

“I meant after that!”

“Either you come leave the dirty comments outside, or I slam the door in your face”

“I think I will leave the comments and come in thank you” Ellen stepped aside as he came in; he wiped his feet and went into the back garden where Kian was getting beaten up by Koa on the floor.

Shane laughed and sat down in one of the chairs. Kian came over and pulled Ellen onto his lap and she yelped in surprise. Shane questioned them about what would be happening, as Ellen still lived in England, in her flat. Kian and Ellen hadn’t discussed it themselves, so they looked at each other and said simultaneously:

“We are going to live here”

“I can’t imagine living anywhere else with anyone else, can you Kian?” Ellen looked deep into his eyes, hoping that he agreed.

“No, I can’t it is just too perfect, and you already know the place so well”

“Especially the bedroom” Shane dared to speak in such a manner, Kian just looked confused.

“I told you to leave the dirty comments on the doorstep” Shane held his hands up admitting to being guilty and laughed.

Shane left soon after his arrival; they didn’t live that far apart, so they could just pop in any time they pleased. Kian and Ellen spent the whole day playing with Koa, feeding Koa and making him feel loved. Kian handed Ellen a letter that he had received that morning from the postman. It was a couple of tickets for a flight back to England, so that Ellen could back the rest of her stuff and sort out the payments of the flat and everything. The flight was in a week’s time, the same as Emma and Olly’s. They thought they should make a holiday of it, as they only originally came over for Ellen’s wedding.

The week passed so quickly, and Koa was being dropped off at his grandmothers, who would be his guardian whilst Ellen and Kian were away. Kian was treating it as a honeymoon, but Ellen thought of it as a return trip home to pack up some stuff. She would sell most of her stuff; she didn’t need it any more. Once they arrived at the airport, Kian regretted not wearing sunglasses as the paparazzi came blundering in and took loads of photos of the couple. They asked if Kian had any words, but all he said was that he wanted them all to bugger off and that he was with his soul mate now, and they will be happy together. He pulled Ellen through the mob, and eventually, they were in a cab on the way to Ellen’s flat, the swarm of journalists’ just specks in the rear view mirror.

Kian would have driven there in his car, but it had been shipped over to Ireland by ferry. The taxi pulled up and they jumped out, paying the driver kindly. They waltzed up to the door and it felt weird to Ellen, she would never have to open the door again. She packed relatively quickly, and soon, the sofa was in the trash and Ellen’s bags were all by the door. Kian and Ellen locked the door, with Ellen’s stuff safely inside, and took a walk; their flight wasn’t for a while yet, so they had time to do whatever they wanted. Ellen’s car had been shipped over too, so they had to walk most places if they didn’t want to take a cab. Ellen took Kian all over the place, and eventually, they turned up at the diners ruins. Ellen managed not to cry, but she was sad to see it go.

They said goodbye to the ruins, for the last time, and they made their way back to the flat, after visiting the garage to say goodbye to Adam. Adam didn’t even realise that Ellen had gone to Ireland, but knew that she was married. She said farewell to her brother, whilst handing in her notice. He knew that she wouldn’t be able to work off her notice, but he seemed okay with that. They finally made their way to the airport in a taxi full of Ellen’s belongings, and were soon sitting on the plane back to Ireland.

Ellen wasn’t upset at all that she would be saying goodbye to her home country, Ireland wasn’t that far away, and she would still be in contact with everyone. She said goodbye to Emma before they left, and Emma informed her of her due date so that she could come over during that time. Ellen rolled her eyes; Emma always looked towards the future, and never looked back at the past. Ellen admired that, but wished that Emma would look back at the good times every once in a while, to remind herself of who she is. Olly reminded her of that though, on a daily basis. Ellen reminded him to look after Emma properly; otherwise she would kick his backside so hard that he wouldn’t be able to go to the toilet for a month.

Once they arrived back in Ireland, they soon arrived at their home and unpacked all of Ellen’s things. It took a little while; Ellen didn’t realise how much stuff she had actually brought with her. Kian made himself useful by collecting Koa, and leaving Ellen to it. She like his plan of action, and thought it was a wise move of his. Kian gave her a set of keys which unlocked the house, and all of the compartments within it that had locks. Ellen was told that he would go through each key later, once she had finished unpacking and he was back with Koa. Ellen was struggling to figure out where to put things. She didn’t want to crown Kian’s home with her junk, so some of the stuff she brought she left in the boxes they arrived in. she was going to put the stuff she didn’t use in the loft, where everything not needed was stored. She would do that once she sorted everything else out.

She soon finished, and Kian wasn’t back yet with Koa, so she decided to put the boxes in the loft to get them out of the way. She unlocked the loft with ease, and switched the light on. She pushed the boxes up the ladder, being careful not to drop them. She looked around for a suitable place to store them, when she came across a small wooden box. It was locked, and none of the keys fitted it. Her curiosity almost got the better of her and was willing to smash the lock off, but then she heard the front door close and Koa run up the stairs to find her. Kian shouted up to her ‘hello’ and Ellen said she would be down in a minute. She climbed down, and Koa came running towards her with open arms, screaming ‘mummy!’ Ellen picked him up as he jumped, and carried him downstairs after kissing him gently on the head.

Kian asked her if she had everything sorted, and she replied that she was just finishing up by putting the boxes in the loft. He seemed unfazed, so Ellen decided she would ask him later. In the meantime, Ellen was about to start cooking dinner, but Kian told her to sit down, put her feet up and watch a bit of TV with Koa, he would cook dinner. Ellen was shocked, but left him to it. She sat on the sofa watching Barney with Koa on a kids’ TV channel. They only moved when Kian came in and announced:

“Dinner is served” he did a little bow and Ellen and Koa climbed up out of the comfy sofa. Kian cooked an excellent meal, fish fingers and chips, and Ellen laughed at how much ‘effort’ he had gone to. He claimed that he made the chips himself, but Ellen saw the empty frozen chip packet to which they originally belonged. Realising that he had been rumbled, he gave in and stopped pretending that he had made it all himself. Ellen went to bed earlier than normal, she was shattered, and Kian was also. Koa went to bed eventually, after Ellen singing to him, she almost fell asleep listening to herself. She decided she would question Kian in the morning, when he was fully awake; all of his ‘culinary work’ had tired him out.
