"Ok, Lin. See you in a few." Crystal slipped her phone back into her bag and looked at Raymond. "Lindsay's on her way." They were at the little breakfast cafe Lindsay told them about. It was gorgeous out and they were sitting at one of the outside tables.
"So, how was it seeing Lindsay last night?" Raymond asked as he buttered his toast.
Crystal sighed and pushed her eggs around her plate. "It felt really good. I missed her so much."
Raymond feigned like he was hurt. "And what am I, chopped tofu?"
She glanced at him. "I missed you too, you know that."
Raymond chuckled and waved his hand at her. "I'm only playing with you. I know you missed me too, but that's different. You're not in love with me."
Crystal nodded. "Exactly." She watched him shovel the last of his toast, eggs and bacon into his mouth, the food making brief appearances now and then as he chewed.
"And now I know why," she murmured, wrinkling her nose.
Raymond laughed, crumbs spewing everywhere. "Shut up, you love me. If it weren't for Lin, you'd be all over me. Admit it."
Crystal rolled her eyes. "Lindsay or no Lindsay, I would never be all over you," she retorted, smiling.
Raymond nodded down the street. "Speaking of Lindsay."
Crystal glanced in the direction Raymond was looking and felt like time slowed as she watched her approach. Lindsay was talking on her phone, striding purposely towards them, a little swagger in her step. She was wearing white pantsuit with a burnt orange button down underneath with matching heels. Crystal's grin widened as she took in the outfit. It was one of hers, and it was actually one that she designed with Lindsay in mind. Not many people could pull that color off, but Lindsay did. Her hair was loose and wavy, bouncing around her shoulders as she walked. She looked gorgeous and Crystal saw people's heads swiveling as she walked past them. She sucked in a breath and bit back the urge to burst out into song. "Pretty Woman, walking down the street..."
"Crys... hey Crys...Crystal!"
She snapped back to reality as she heard Raymond's voice. "Huh? Oh, sorry," she murmured.
Raymond smirked and pointed to his chin. "You have a little drool right... there," he muttered.
She threw him a look before glancing back at Lindsay. "That's mine," she murmured, nodding at Lindsay and Raymond scoffed.
"Yeah, ok, you wish she was yours."
Crystal rolled her eyes. "No, not Lindsay, you idiot. The clothes are mine." She shook her head at him as Lindsay sat down next to her.
"Hi guys, sorry I'm so late," she greeted, reaching over to snag a piece of Crystal's toast. "I'm starving."
Crystal signaled the waitress, who came right over. After ordering a stack of pancakes, Lindsay turned to the two of them and grinned. "It is so nice, the three of us together." They all looked at each other and smiled. They talked for a little while as Lindsay ate her pancakes.
Lindsay wiped her mouth and threw the napkin onto the empty plate. "So, what are we gonna do today?"
Raymond shook his head. "I just came for breakfast, I gotta go meet Kacia at her mother's." He rolled his eyes and pulled out his wallet, throwing down a twenty. "I got this." He leaned over and kissed each girl on the cheek. "Call me when you get back from shopping."
Lindsay frowned. "We never said we were going shopping."
He looked at her and grinned. "Does it really need to be said?"
