Lilly’s POV

Devin dived for me and dragged me to the ground, nothing else happened, it went all silent and it felt weird, wrong. I looked at Devin and he looked confused as I did but sniffed the air, it was fine. Julian came running in, looking alarmed. He saw us lying on the ground, Devin stood up and helped me get up but a feral scent came up to my nose, one so familiar it hurts. I looked out the window to see him in plain view,

“Tyler” I whispered, Julian paled when he saw who I was staring at.

Tyler was our older brother by three years and was at school when we were attacked. I missed him dearly and always wondered if he ever look for me, if he ever wondered if we were ever still alive. Tyler’s eyes looked alight and I dropped my gaze from his, he is with the rouges, what did this mean? Was he the one that wanted to capture me? Was he the one who wanted to kill me? I need these questions answered so without a second thought I shook off Devin’s grip on my hand and ran the door.

I stood a foot away from Tyler, I needed answers, I need to know why. Tyler stood in a protective stance, like he was waiting for someone to come out and attack him but he was eyeing me curiously. I started into his blue eyes and tried to find a clue to why he is here, a clue to what he is hiding in that head of his.

“Tyler” I repeated once again,

“Lillian” he said in a cold tone,

“Oh” was I all I said back, he was cold, mean. The exact opposite of what he used to be but I guess coming home to find your whole pack dead, wouldn’t you turn cold and heartless? Wouldn’t you harden yourself up so you can prepare for revenge?

“What are you doing here?” a voice sounded behind me and I turned to see Julian and then it clicked, Tyler knew that Julian was alive all these years, he knew that he was a leader of a pack but if he wasn’t here then why would he be here now?

Me was the simple answer to that question. I was found.

“I have come for Lillian, I am her guardian and you can’t do anything to stop it”

“No!” a voice growled and an arm slipped around my waist, bringing me close to Devin’s side. “She’s with me”

Why do I fell ripped apart in two directions?

“Let her decide” Tyler said, I didn’t need to think about it,

“Devin, I chose Devin” Devin made me feel safe, he protects me and comforts me. If I was torn away from him or chose to go with Tyler I would be hurting him and me, it wasn’t far that way.

Then I started to wonder why I was so important? Why did it matter who I stayed with? I shook my head and Devin placed a kiss on the top of my head Tyler caught the action and disgust dwelled in his eyes, what happened to him?

“What happened to you Tyler?” I asked, his eyes snapped to mine,

“What?”

“What happened to my caring brother, the person who was there for me when I was pushed in the mud and people teased me? What happened to the smart and strong fighter I know you to be?”

His expression went blank, “That me went after I came home to find almost everyone dead, gone and I was alone. Forced to grow up beyond my years”

“So? I was split up from everyone, I knew everyone was dead and yet I thought I was the one still alive, the one left of the Midnight Moon Pack. Stop acting like this is all about you because it is not!” I shouted at Tyler, I snuggled deeper into Devin’s hold and he tightened his arm around me.

“Can we go?” I whispered up to Devin and he glanced down at me, he gave me a tight nod and started too walked away with me under his arm. I could feel Tyler staring at us and I just hopped Julian could handle him alone.

People where already fixing the windows, they were part of the pack and I didn’t know when they were called but it seems I don’t know a lot and have been kept in the dark from a lot of things. Julian clearly knew that Tyler was alive and forgot to mention it; they all know why the rouges want me and I wonder if they know about Anna being a werewolf? I glanced up at Devin to see that his face is blank and his mouth is set into a thin line. We were walking towards a boy and a girl who I knew was Amber. We stopped in front of them and I sent a confused look to Devin,

“Look after Lilly please, I have some business to take care of”

“Business that involves me” I stated and drew out of his arms,

“And could get you killed”

“I know how to fight”

“But clearly you don’t have the courage” Devin stated and I look up at him in the eyes, tears lined my vision and Devin seemed to notice, his words caught up with him and regret showed I his eyes but it was too late to take back the words.

“Whatever, go do you stupid beta business, Beta Louis” I said and used his last name to show how much he hurt me before I walked to Amber and stood next to her.

Once Devin disappeared I slumped down and looked at the forest, a rouge was lingering in the far distance and no one seemed to notice, it seemed like it was Tyler’s guard, was Tyler really the leader of the pack? Now I think about it the person who dug his claw into my stomach his voice sounded like Tyler’s. I closed my eyes and leaned up against a tree, I need to set this straight, I need to know.

I opened my eyes and gave Amber a half-hearted smile and a wink,

“Want to do something badass?”
