Lilly’s POV

Every person’s heart is scarred with pain, we don’t see it, we don’t hear about it. We can sometimes see it when they finally break down but none of us want to feel the agony that we do.

I woke up in Amber’s room after having the sleepover. I looked around the room sleepily and yawned while stretching. I took a shower in her bathroom and changed into a fresh pair of clothes. I saw Amber was lying half-on-half-off on her bed snoring lightly. I rolled my eyes at her and silently made my way out of her door. I closed the door and went downstairs to the kitchen. I went through the cupboard, wondering what I should have for breakfast when a group of girls came into the kitchen. They were the group from the mall, the ones who thought that I wasn’t good enough. Amelia had joined them.

I ignored them the best I could but it was hard when they started talking about you, their voices raised.

“I can’t believe he ditched you for her”

“I know right, I would make a much more beta female, at least I’m not weak like her.”

“Or a cry baby, did you see her when you came back? She was a blabbering fool” their laughter rang out as they continued their verbal torture on me.

I was glad when Ander walked in with Amber. Both of their jaws were locked and fist tightened. Amber sent me a look asking if I was okay, I answered with a shrug. They moved out of the way as Julian and Devin entered,

“Every single one of you leave, now!” Julian shouted,

 They scurried away. I ducked my head as Devin went to look at me. I mentally shook my head, I needed to be braver then this, to have courage. I closed my eyes and sighed before opening them and I looked out the window. I saw Tyler hidden in the trees, is eyes willing for me to go to him. I looked away. I would deal with him later.

I shrugged and kept searching for food. I settled with cornflakes and went to grab a bowel. I turned around to grab the milk but saw it handed out to me. I gave Devin a soft smile and took it with a quiet thanks. Once I made my breakfast I sat at the table, I raised an eyebrow at Amber as she jumped up and down in her sleep,

“What’s up with you?” I asked

“I found him!” she giggled and I blinked at her,

“What?”

She shook her head, “You probably haven’t noticed but we have some unfamiliar people hanging around because of the meeting that’s being held here”

“So…” I drawled,

“So I found my mate!” she smiled brightly,

“Okay…regular, Beta or Alpha?” I asked,

“Beta”

“Oh” I said, staring at my food, “Does that mean that you have to leave?”

I looked up at her and her expression dropped slightly. Guilt swirled in my stomach for ruining her happy moment.

“I forgot about that” she mumbled

“It’s fine, well find time to hang out” I said, forcing a smile, “I can get Devin to be our chauffeur”
