....Their dreams...

"They say your dreams are a reflection of your thoughts but what happens when the content of your dreams have never once crossed your mind?"

........................................................................

I walk down a dark hallway.
Shadows run across the walls.
I hear someone call my name and I follow the sound until I get to a box.

The voice calls once more and I proceed to walk again and I soon see myself falling into a black hole.

I am falling deeper and deeper into total darkness.

Until I fall into a room and on a chair.

Standing beside the chair is a woman clothed in white from head to toe.

In front of me is a large mirror and I am pulled towards the mirror.

Just then a face is shown on the mirror, a girl.

Just then a face is shown on the mirror, a boy.

The woman speaks.
"She is your match."

The woman speaks.
"He is your match."

I woke up startled.

What sort of dream was that?

I checked the time and it was 8:00 pm.

I had fallen asleep when I got back from school and I had just woken up.

I had never slept that long.

I got up, stepped into the bathroom and took a cold shower.

When I was done, I walked down the stairs to find my mom watching TV.

"Mom" I called out to her.

"Oh, you are finally awake. You must have had quite a day in school for you to have slept that long." She said turning to look at me.

"Not really. But why didn't you wake me up?"

She had never let me sleep that long.

"You looked so peaceful. I just thought it would be best to let you sleep. Your dinner is on the dining table. I made your favorite." She said with pride.

I grinned. That was definitely a great addition to my otherwise shitty day.

"Thanks mom!"

"Oh, I almost forgot. Tiff came over but I told her you were asleep."

I then remembered that I planned to talk to Tiff.

"Yeah I'll talk to her later." I said while making my way to the plate of food on the dining table.

I sat at the table and looked at the chair opposite me.

My dad used to sit there.

I shook my head in an attempt to erase the thought from my head. He was gone and I had to accept that.

I picked up my phone and saw two missed calls from Tiff and I assumed she had called when she was about to come over.

A few months ago she had barged into my room and I was in nothing but a towel. Since then, I made her promise to always call before coming over.
