"What you can die for is what you live for" (Original)

10/2/35My father had found a house.
It was bigger than our old one and it was in a serene environment. Considering the fact that I was beginning to get tired of the hotel, it was perfect timing. The day he found the house, my father went back to our old town. He took a truck and went back to our old house to get the rest of our property that we couldn't pack in a hurry.
My mother and I were afraid for his life, afraid he would run into the very people we were hiding from. My mother begged him to stay but he insisted on going. Our worry escalated when it was evening, he hadn't returned and there was no way to reach him. He had taken no personal belonging of his. We tried our best to fall asleep with the hope that he would come back the next day.
At 1 o'clock the next day, we hadn't seen my Dad. We began to panic.
What if something had happened to him?
The fact that I didn't know what was going on was driving me crazy, so, I broke the one rule I was given. I stepped out of the hotel to see if his truck was nearby. As soon as I stepped out, I felt like I could live again, breath in fresh air. I couldn't enjoy the moment for long so I looked both ways to see if he was coming but the only car I saw was a black Porsche. It drove past me with speed and I caught only a glimpse of the driver before I turned back towards the hotel.
Inside the hotel, I threw myself on the bed. I had hope in my Dad despite all. I knew he wouldn't leave us like that, he would come back.

12/2/35I got through the weekend in one piece.
I did a lot of thinking and I decided to try what Tyrese told me. It wouldn't hurt to date her I guess. It would be stupid for me to see Margo and not say a thing and since I hadn't made a decision I just planned to go with what Tyrese said."Hey dork!"
Tiff punched me slightly on my arm as I walked into school Monday morning with my backpack.
"Do you even know what a dork is?"
I asked as I stopped to face her. She was wearing a pink dress and her face looked extra touched up. She always looked beautiful but that day she looked like she put in an extra effort.
The guy you end up with will be very lucky.
"Yes I know what a dork is. A dork is you!" She exclaimed interrupting my thoughts.
"You couldn't be more wrong child."
"Nuh uh!" She shouted while stamping her feet.
I had to laugh. She could be such a baby at times. She also joined in and laughed.
"Okay seriously, What's up?" She said trying to hold her smile.
"I am in one piece." I hung my bag properly over my shoulder and placed my two hands in my pocket.
"That's good." She winked at me.
We continued walking down the hallway.
Why couldn't it be Tiff?
Why couldn't I see her as someone more than a friend? More than a sister?
Why was she in the friend zone? Why was she in the family zone?
Maybe she would have taken my mind of Margo.... Maybe I would feel more in control of my life and less controlled.
