After the first period, the list for fresher's aid was released. Usually, due to the high standards of our institution, it was required that aid was made available to new students in order for them to survive.

It was mainly a partnership program where an old student gets paired with a new comer to help him or her adapt fully to the environment. I have been paired up with new students in the past and I usually meet up with them for just a couple weeks before leaving them to experience life at the institution, on their own.

For you to be chosen to give assistant to a new student, you had to sign up. I signed up in the past because I understand that teaching others helps me learn better. This time I didn't. I wasn't ready to get involved with new people just yet.

After my second period, I approached my locker to get a book out of it. As I got closer, I saw Margo by her locker and she saw me too.

I realized I was going to have to talk to her eventually so I walked towards her.
I didn't have a Preplanned speech to deliver but I figured I wouldn't have one later either.

"Hi"

We both said at the same time once I got close to her. We both smiled at this.

"How are you?"

As dumb as it seems, that was the only thing I could think of to say.

"I'm fine?"

She answered in a questioning tone as if she thought that moment was very cliche.

I looked around nervously, secretly hoping she would say something before it became obvious that I was an airhead when it came to conversations like this.

"So about last week, my confession, did you think about it?"

I was shocked by her directness and that shocked me. I was always the straight forward and Frank one, yet her frankness was disturbing. I would have rather kicked off with small talk.

"I, uh, did. Although it didn't result to much significance."

"What do you mean?"
She tensed a little.

"I mean, I can't figure out my feelings for you. I'm sure there is something but I don't know what it is."

She relaxed a bit and smiled, probably trying to mask the disappointment clearly evident in her eyes.

"I should apologize for jumping right into that question, I was just really curious. Um, of course, take your time."

It was a little disturbing that she was so understanding, honestly.

"I am super glad you understand." I said with an even tone through out the sentence which didn't signify in any sense, that I was glad about anything.

"I'll be here whenever you're ready Calex."

A seductress she suddenly became, batting her lashes, biting slowly on her lower lip and suddenly making me realize her cleavage peaking out of her top. Then that face, with the innocence of a child and her hands fondling with the edge of her black jacket.

I don't Know why I suddenly took notice of all these things, especially her eyes which looked a softer shade than usual. She looked harmless, but I knew that this girl had a direct influence on my life and it wasn't positive or beneficial to me in any way.
