...The date...

'You can run but you can't hide'

                         CALEX
                         3/2/35

I looked at the piece of paper which contained Margo's number.
It was Saturday. The day I had promised to take her out. I didn't want to contact her but it was my offer so it would be wrong for me not to call her.

Then another thought crossed my mind.
I could call her and cancel, but what good would that do?
I stared at the paper once more then I picked up my phone and dialed her number.

I relaxed my back on the bed and looked at the ceiling as the phone rang, secretly hoping she wouldn't pick.

"Hello?"

I heard her voice over my phone after five rings.

"Uh, hi. It's Calex."

I expected her to sense the lack of enthusiasm in my voice but it's either she didn't or she chose to ignore.

"I was beginning to think you weren't going to call."

Honestly, I wasn't.

I wish I could say.

"So about our date... " I started and she cut me off.

"I think we should go to Deli. I'm really in the mood for a sundae. Plus their food is to die for! Oh sorry.....  Except you want to go somewhere else."

She already had it all planned in her head and only remembered that it was a date for two towards the end of her speech.

I didn't have a problem with going to Deli. My problem was going anywhere with her at all.

I stopped for a moment to think.
Maybe I should give her the benefit of a doubt.

"Calex?"

I snapped back to reality. I didn't realize I was silent for so long.

"I'm sorry. I'll pick you up at 4 so send me your address."

I apologized. Not that I thought that I needed to.

"I'll just meet you at the same spot you dropped me off at when you gave me a ride."

She clearly didn't want me around her house. The reason behind that was something I was curious about.

I agreed and ended the call.

It was 12 in the afternoon and Tyrese was down in the kitchen eating all our food. He came in quite hungry and I made the mistake of offering him food.

He walked into my room with a plate of chicken and a glass of milk by the side.
I sensed that he had eaten a lot downstairs and that wasn't his first plate.

"Is that your second plate bro?"

I had a feeling it wasn't even the second.
Tyrese wasn't exactly a foodie but when he was hungry he could eat a horse.

"Nah, I didn't exactly have proper plates downstairs. Just little of everything."
He chuckled. "Anyways did you call her?"

I had told him that I had a date with Margo and he was all for me calling her.
He spent the first few minutes begging for her number and I blatantly refused. I think it is quite rude to give a person's number without their permission.

He gave up on begging for her number and he resorted to bugging me to call her.

"Yeah, I did. And she had the date all planned out in her head. She even already chose a venue."
