When Barry walked into the New York Police Department, he knew it was going to be a long first day. The amount of detectives and deputys in the precinct was unbeleivable. There were more of them here than in Central City, not to mention the place was a lot bigger too.

Barry made his way to the lab up on the second floor that was his space and sat down at his computer, very aware that he wasn't the only forensic scientist working there. However he was very surprised when ten minutes afted he sat down, he was called down to assist someone with a case.

He grabbed his kit and made his wat downstairs to his boss Taylor Kinney's office. Upon entering his first thought was that he seemed to be pretty laid back but strict. He also noticed that a man of African American descent with a fade and brown eyes, a badge and a hip holster with a gun was inside the office too.

"Barry this is Luke Garroway, NYPD's best detective. You'll be working with him today." Kinney told him.

Barry nodded and held out his hand to Luke, who took it and shook it firmly. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Likewise." Luke says.

"I was told that we had a crime scene to check out?" Barry said, glancing at Kinney.

The captain nodded and let out a response. "Yes you do. I'll speak with you later."

The crime scene was strange but no different than what Barry had to deal with back in Central City. Of course here he also had to make sure he didn't miss anything and be sure he was right before he voiced his oppinion to Garroway.

Barry knelt by the body and peeled back the blue plastic taper covering the victim and began to examine it. The body was that of a woman no older than twenty-four and she looked like she weighed almost 150lbs. Her hair was chesnut brown and matted to her head where she must have hit it when she fell.

The head wound she suffered wasn't what killed her. The gaping hole in her chest cavity was what did her in apparently. Her heart was missing but that wasn't the strange part. That was the fact that her heart was found by a dumpster in the alley where she was found, half eaten and Barry had concluded that this was definitely not anything he'd ever dealt with in CC.

Barry sighed and shook his head, pulling the taper back over the body as he began searching the vicinity for any signs that the killer must have left. He found nothing, no murder weapon, no evidence, nothing.

The woman had obviously fought back and yet there was no skin under her nails. Barry couldn't understand that and he tried to think as he straightened up.

"What did you get?" Luke asked, walking over to him from his left.

Barry shot him a glance as he pulled his camera and began taking shots of the body. "Other than whoever did this wasn't human...nothing. There's no fingerprints, no dna, nada."

Luke looked at him sharply. "What do you mean whatever did this wasn't human?"

Barry warily eyed him and said, "Some kind of animal killed this woman. That's as much as I can tell but I have a knack of finding this stuff out."

"Really?" Luke said mostly to himself. "Try and see if you can pull some prints off her and anything small, I want you to test it."

Barry saluted to him jokingly. "Aye aye captain." Luke raised an eyebrow and Barry made a face and said, "Sorry. Not the right time."

"You're cool Barry." Luke said.

Barry smiled and went back to work. If he had looked to his right he would have seen Alec and Jace standing in the shadows of the alley, watching him.

Alec Lightwood
Alec watched Barry talking with Luke and smiling. He seemed to make a joke and Luke just looked at him. Alec was surprised that Barry was going about his day as if last night didn't happen. Alec had wanted to keep an eye on him the day after just to make sure he was okay.

"Alec you are such a stalker." Jace said with a laugh.

Alec frowned and punched him in the arm, none to gently. "No I'm not. I thought I made myself clear when I said I wanted to make sure he was okay."

Jace rolled his eyes. "Sure. Like that's the only reason."

"Jace..." Alec said warningly.

"You like him Alec. Just admit it." Jace told him crossing his arms. "I won't think any different of you. I mean you already dated Magnus so I already know you're gay."

Alec glared at him before he turned back to watching Barry, who was now taking pictures of the body. Alec heard Barry say something.

"Hey Luke, come look at this." Barry said.

Alec watched Luke walk over to Barry and examine what Barry was looking at. Alec strained to hear them.

"That is indeed strange." Luke says.

Barry nodded. "Yeah. I...have to call someone. I'll be right back."

Barry walked into a corner and started to call a friend. "Blaine I need you to look up a name...Ricardo Johnson...thanks. I'll see you later."

Alec frowned. What was that about? Now Alec was more curious about this guy. He was gonna find out everything about him.
