Barry Allen
If Barry were to be completely honest with himself or anyone for that matter, he'd say that his job was boring as hell and he wanted to quit. But it wasn't like he could do that now when he just started. So he stuck with the boringness of the job and sucked it up.

Barry found himself up in his lab later that morning, looking at the evidence he gathered up, trying to find something that would give the killer up or the animal that did this. It was hard as hell and it was good that Barry had patience. Otherwise he would have given up two hours ago.

At the moment he was running the murder victims fingerprints to find out who she was. So far he had nothing. It was like she didn't exist at all in the citywide populace. Which was impossible, considering she should have ID somewhere in the country or something but she didn't. There was no possible way that he couldn't find out who she was and what her name is--was.

Groaning, Barry leaned back in the chair and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was closer to midnight than he thought; he lost track of time and it was about time for him to leave to go home. Actually, it was way past the time he was supposed to go home. Sighing quietly, Barry stood up and grabbed his jacket from the back of the chair, preparing himself to leave. Pocketing his phone, he made his way down to the main lobby of the precinct and saw that Luke had already gone home.

Barry pulled his jacket on as he walked towards the front doors, steeling himself for the cold that would hit just as he left and waved to the man operating as the security guard tonight. The guard waved back to him as he strode out into the chilly night air and started making his way back to the apartment he shared with Blaine. The walk was peaceful for as long as it lasted before he started feeling like something was wrong. Of course the moment he noticed, someone jumped out in front of him, and he jumped back, yelping in fright.

Much to his dislike, the mysterious person started laughing hysterically at his discomfort and reaction. Barry scowled at the boy in front of him, his eyes holding a look of utter anger and discontent. His face flushed in embarrassment and hisnheart still racing, Barry shoved the boy back. It did little to stop the laughter even as he stumbled back a step.

"What the hell?! That's not funny!" Barry protested. "I almost had a heart attack!"

Zayn finally looked up, still laughing at him. "I got you good, Barry! You should have seen your face!"

Barry scowls again and started to walk down the street, slightly annoyed that the vampire had scared him so much. While Barry wasn't so easy to scare on a regular basis, as of late he'd been lowering his guard more and more in New York. He was starting to get used to the way things were in the city, so he felt a bit safer. And of course, one of the crazy and possibly, regrettable things he has done since that incident at the club Pandemonium, was befriend a vampire. The very vampire who had tried to help save his life that night.

The first night at home after the attack was lonely and scary. He was too embarrassed to tell Blaine--who had to work that day--that he didn't want to be left alone. So Barry had sucked it up and decided to sleep the day away, hoping that he wouldn't be plagued by nightmares. When he woke up, half past eight at night, he realized two things. The first being that Blaine still wasn't home and the second was that someone was in his room, standing by the open window with the curtains billowing behind them in the wind.

Barry had screamed and scrambled out of the bed to run away but the light was turned on and over the roar of his racing heart and pounding eardrums, he heard the intruder begging him to calm down. Turns out that it was Zayn checking in on him in his own way. Which meant watching him sleep. After his initial shock of the vampire in his room, he slowly started to feel comfortable with him and they began a friendship that, in other words, was probably forbidden.
