5 - things you want to say to an ex.
I looked over at their table, my eyes landing on him immediately. Everyone knew them, everyone knew who they were, and everyone knew him.
Everyone thought they knew our story.
But how can they know our story, when I'm not even sure I know it.
He has changed. Really changed.
And I wish I could say it was a good change, but then I would be lying and mom always told me to not lie, because lying does not end well.
He laughed, but it wasn't the same laugh that I had fallen for. It was another one, a different one. The type of laugh I wouldn't wait thousands of years for, a laugh that would make me shiver because it sounded so fake.
His hand was on a girls back, slowly trailing down to her butt. It was disgusting, really - he was disgusting.
As if he could feel someone eyes on him, he turned around and scanned the crowd until his green eyes landed on my blue ones. His face was emotionless but the way he looked at me was enough for me to know that he wasn't the same anymore.
"You're better than this, Jake." I wanted to say.
"You can do better than them,"
"They're using you."
"Come back to me, I'll help you."
"I'm sorry for breaking up with you when I thought I had a hard time, when all those times, you needed my support and comfort," I wanted to tell him
"I'm sorry you ended up like this because of me,"
All of those words, I wanted to say to him with my mouth, but I couldn't - instead I was hoping he'd read my eyes and understand.
But people are not mind readers.
Especially not him.
So confused and amused, he shrugged and turned back to the crowd.
