It's my first day taking over the warrior training. It's also the first time Storm is coming back to training after six months.
"Alright men! There's six stations!" Storm slowly walks up arms crossed looking pretty upset.
"Pull ups, sprints, Crunchs, bench press, upside down push ups, lastly we will be playing hunters vs. hunters."The warriors nod their heads. I can't help but notice Storms bright smile all the sudden.
"When doing so I want strong but silent movements," Oh my Storms smile. "Split up get started!"
Everyone gets straight to work, except Storm. She's quietly laughing to her self.
"Stormy, come on." I place my hand on her back and lead her to the poles.
I try and ignore how happy my wolf is.
The men on the poles are heavy footed. Landing loudly.
"Hey everyone listen up!" Storm whimpers at my harshness.
"I can't get through to her."
"All of you would be dead!"
I let go of Storm and walk to the bar to show them what I want. I feel a pull from my shirt. Looking back at a tiny hand belonging to Storm.
"I can do it." He voice is shy but her body figure is strong.
I nod my head. Yet I'm confused on why she doesn't move. Oh yeah.
"Okay two sets." I take a step back.
She reaches up but can't reach the bar.
"Jump Storm." Ace speaks up.
She does so and grabs the bar like a pro. She pulls her chin over the bar, no sounds comes from her. She comes down and back up the releases the bar landing soft and quiet.
"Perfect." She smiles to her self.
All the boys eyes stare at the tiny white headed girl. I see her getting uncomfortable so I speak up.
"Lets see that happen men!"
The men and Storm stand in a line. Ace and I are picking our teams. My team are the hunters, his is the hunties.
"So we pick Storm first but then she feels we did it because we had to or don't pick her and he does." My wolf and I are figuring out who to pick. We both want Storm. I know Ace wants Storm.
My Alpha growls in my head.
"He has a crush on her I can feel it."
I roll my eyes.
"I want Tyler." Ace points.
"Storm." It shoots out my mouth before I can stop wolf from saying it.
Her face crunches up with confusion but walks to my side.
We picked our teams now we're giving the others time to run.
"Everyone split up go different ways. We're not hunting to kill we're hunting for information." My men nod huge smiles.
Storm on the other hand is frowning and shaking her head no.
"No. Groups of two to three. Not side by side the better tracker goes first, best fighter follows behind in the shadows. Four warriors stay around Alpha make sure no one finds him." They look at her with wide eyes then back at me.
I narrow my eyes at her knowing she can't see it.
"Storm I get your new but we follow my plan." I give a slight powerful growl.
The men coward down nodding in submission. Storm steps forward to me staring straight into my chest. She puts her hand on my stomach.
"Oh this pup. Who does she think she is!" Alpha is fuming.
He forces a powerful Alpha growl out of my throat.
I smirk expecting her to whimper and faded back in line. That's definitely not what happened! Her eyes went from as white as snow to the color of gray clouds.
"Oh shit." Wolf and I say at the same time.
Her wolf fangs grow as a heart dropping growl rips through the air.
"I understand your the big scary Alpha but we're doing this my way till you prove you wont kill us." My eyes widen at her words. I guess Dante came out to play.
"So Wolf. Im gonna let her win."
"Fine. Storm's way! Let's move out!" Everyone grabs their partner and heads out.
I head to get Storm but Cody got to her before me and brought her over. Once the four men plus Storm are here we walk into the forest.
Storm is leading the group. I watch her every move making sure she doesn't hit a tree. I focus my hearing on her. There's nothing, it's like a ghost not even a breath.
"Hey over here." A warrior whispers. Everyone crowds around him.
Storm stays in her spot I finally hear her! She's sniffing. It startles me when her head snaps to the tree by us.
"Alpha. Their here. Run." A male wolf voice hits my head. Dante.
I look up in the tree. Three of the men in the tree.
I take off running once I'm far enough I shift into my dark brown wolf.
"You left Storm!"
"Alpha calm down she has the others."
My wolf forces me to run back. I here wolfs snarling and biting. I look through the bushes my warriors are fighting. Storm is no where to be seen.
I can't help fight the point of the game is to find the leader and game over.
"Game over men." Ace's wolf rings through our heads making the fighting stop.
I look around to see if anyone saw me.
"Kota and Johnny found me."
We won.
Ace's was caught.
Everyone heads out of the woods and back to the training cite. We shift back into our human forms and circle up. Storm is still no where to be seen.
"Have any of you seen Storm?" The men answer with firm no.
I nod my head dismissing them from training.
I force myself not to go find Storm and head back to the house.
To me she's still that little helpless girl she was when I left but it's like there's more now. I don't want to leave her alone even if she disobeys me.
"We have stuff to do let's go."
I listen to Wolf and walk to my office.
Okay the first thing is, find a place for the party and set up.
"Ahh have Ace do it."
I laugh and sit down in my chair.
I've been sitting here for like an hour signing dumb papers that will never be needed. Whatever I'm done now. It's 7:00pm and I need to make sure all the pups are safe and heading to bed. Not like their parents can't do that but this is for the pups who's parents were sadly lost in battle.
As soon as I walk out of my office dad runs straight into me.
"Son! You know what I haven't thought about in a while? Your mom's old herd. She died as a wolf! Meaning she still had her horse." He takes a deep breath before continuing. "What if the horse her is back where her herd was?" The excitement in his eyes made it so hard for me to tell him it wasn't possible.
I know if I told him that he would still go look for her.
"Dad I don't think-" he cuts me off.
"I'm leaving tomorrow to find her. I'll be back for Storm's party." With that he was gone.
I'm almost done with all the pups just one more. Lily's daughter. Lily died 3 years ago. She found her mate had her daughter Violet. Her mate passed away from disease she wasn't far behind. She was a beautiful girl and my best friend. It still hurts but I know she's with her mate and not worried about me.
A light growl comes from behind me. It sounds like Storm but I can't tell. They smell of cotton candy. Yummy. I turn around and sure enough it was her.
"If your gonna think about her can you at least think about her in your own mind." Storm walks by practically growling that at me.
"Oh their smell."
"Stop she's our sister!"
"Chase! No their not."
Right. Wolf sits down in my head.
Wait she heard me thinking? How is that possible?
"Chase," I snap back into reality.
I'm holding onto Storm's arm.
"Why are you holding me here?"
I stare into her white eyes. Someone did this to her. Someone's pack killed her brother. Her brother. I wonder what mom was gonna name him. He didn't have a name didn't even see the world for a second. That pack is gonna pay for what they did to them.
"I'm just sorry for what you had to go through. I promise I will protect you and this pack with everything. You don't have to worry." I didn't realize I was crying till a tear hit my hand. Storm's eyes were watering too.
"I am gonna worry Chase. I don't have eye sight and that gives people a reason to baby me. Dante is helping me. I have better smell, touch, awareness around me." A tear drops off her face.
The tear drop hit the floor and my heart shatters. Why do I feel this connection to her? I let go of her arm and hug her before jogging to the pack library.
