Jungkook's POV

Today's my birthday, but I'm currently locked in my girlfriend's bedroom. She told me that she's going to bake a cake for me. I told her I wanted to help, but she insisted. She didn't tell me what flavor the cake was, but I may or may have not already figured out what it was judging by the smell, but hey, it's food.

Being the nice person that I am, I held back my curiosity of roaming around her room. It's her privacy after all. Instead, I brought out my phone to take pictures of her room. I'll probably use it for black mail- Haha, nope. I'm not that type of person.

Around 45 minutes or so pass before I hear the door being unlocked. The door creaks open, and Chaeyoung pops her head in.

She smiles once she sees me, "The cake is ready!"

Excited Chaeyoung meant cute Chaeyoung, so seeing her this excited made me chuckle. She's so adorable.

"Come on!" She gestures for me to walk faster from behind, waving her hand.

"I'm following, I'm following." I pick up my pace, planning to carry her from behind. Grabbing her from the waist, I lift her up, earning a small giggle from her.

"Jungkook! Put me down!" She tries to let herself free from my grip, but to no avail.

"I don't think the floor is worthy of your grace though." I whine playfully, but eventually put her down once we reach the entrance to the kitchen.

Chaeyoung points at a table, gesturing for me to sit down on the chair behind it. I follow her directions, and after doing so, I watch her take out a plain chocolate cake with 'Happy Birthday' written on it. I was right. It is chocolate. I pat myself on the back for my small victory.

"Happy birthday Jungkook!"  Chaeyoung happily begins to sing, carrying the homemade cake on top of her hands. Smiling from ear to ear, she carefully makes her way towards the dinner table that she assigned to me, walking as slowly as she could to add 'effect.' I smile at the sight. She looks even more beautiful when a smile is on her face. It made me love her even more.

Feeling the need to tease her, I jokingly say, "Make sure to keep the cake safe!"

"Jungkook, please don't-" she begins to say, but is cut off when she trips on a mysterious force called air. I stand up as quickly as I could from my chair, but luckily she didn't fall. The cake..... well, that's a different story. The poor thing came crashing down on the floor, completely splattered in its goodness.

"Nooo, my cake!" I dramatically exclaim, placing both of my hands on either side of my cheeks.

"My hard work!" Chaeyoung exclaims in despair, looking down at her ruined creation.  Her arms were still in the same position as it was when the cake was still alive and solid.

"Chae, how can you do this?" I continue, pretending to be sad about the incident when in reality I'm still touched by the fact that she put in all this hard work to make something for me. She's truly an angel.

"I blame the air! And well..." her arms drop down to her sides, "and my clumsiness...." Chae pouting is the cutest thing in the world. Her cheeks were puffed out, kind of like a chipmunk. I couldn't help but continue my act to see more of this cute side of hers.

"Yes!  Blame the air!"  I exaggerate, bringing my hands up towards the ceiling, a very questionable expression on my face.  Okay, maybe I'm being a teeny bit too extra, but extra is practically my middle name.

Chaeyoung pays no attention to me, and suddenly drops on to her knees, silently having a staring contest with the cake, or I'm assuming so as her bangs were covering her line of vision. Because of said bangs, I couldn't see her facial expression. Despite that, I knew something was off. Chaeyoung is always lively, so seeing her like this made me concerned.

"Uh, Chae?" I begin, my eyebrows beginning to scrunch together in worry. Moving from my spot next to the table, I approach her when she doesn't respond.

"Chae? Are you okay?" I ask again, kneeling on my right knee once I got to her, placing my left hand on her right shoulder to let her know that I'm next to her.

She doesn't utter a word, but her shoulders start shaking, a sniffle escaping from her nose.  She brings both of her hands in front of her eyes to prevent from being seen.

My eyes droop in concern, "Chaeyoung, look at me." I gently pry her hands off of her face. Placing my hands on both sides of her cheeks, I turn her head towards me.

Tears are running down her eyes, her eyes slightly red due to crying.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I softly murmur, gently wiping the tears off of her face.

"W-well," Chaeyoung begins, struggling to form her words, "I knew how eager you were to try the cake, but I..." she pauses to catch her breathe, "but I dropped it."

"You can always make another one next time."  I assure her, "besides, the fact that you even baked me a cake is good enough for me." I finish, smiling softly.

Chaeyoung stares at me, her lips turned downwards in sadness, "B-but this is your first birthday with us together, we can't do it again next time." She protests, her lips quivering.

I sigh, "Aish, come here." I mutter, encircling her in my arms with a hug.  I begin drawing circles on her back.  "Chaeyoung, we might never taste the first cake you made for me, but knowing how much of your feelings you put into it is enough for me," I pause, "while it won't be the same, why don't we try baking another cake?  This time together?"  I suggest, still drawing circles.

"I'd like that."  Chaeyoung replies, her voice muffled from my shirt.  I release her from the hug to check her face.  Her eyes were still a little red, but she looked much better.  I frown slightly.

"Come on Chae, turn that frown upside down, it's your man's birthday after all."  I say cheekily, leaning in to give her a light kiss on the forehead.

The small action brought an angelic smile back on her face.  "You don't know how much I love you Jeon Jungkook."

I pretend to look confused, "You sure about that? I think I my love for you is even greater."

Her smile grows even wider, "Nah, I'm pretty sure I love you more."

"Wanna bet?" I smirk.

Chaeyoung catches me off guard when she lands a quick peck on my lips. "Sure thing Kookie," She winks mischievously, "now let's get to baking!" She exclaims, increasing the distance in between us as fast as she could.

I smile. I don't know how lucky I got with finding a girl like her, but I for sure am going to treasure her.

A/N: I don't know about you guys, but I was squeling when I wrote this? Like, is it weird to find my own writing cute? Haha, anyways, as promised, here's another one! It's pretty short (just around 1k words), but I hope it's to your liking ^^ Before I forget, thank you for 45 followers, 8k+ reads and 400+ votes!  I honestly just started writing these stories because of how much I love Rosekook, and seeing the lack of stories about them (well not anymore, but back when I made this, there wasn't very many) inspired me to make these one shots a reality.  So the fact that these one shots are doing really well shake me to the core.  Thank you so much!  I appreciate every single one of you!  Until next time~
