It was a warm evening at Camp Campbell. Birds sang in the trees and fluffy clouds rolled by, a soft peach glow beneath them as the sun slowly set in the horizon. And yet despite all of this, the only happy person at camp was David."Come along, campers! We're almost back to camp. Then you can eat a healthy dinner and get a full nights rest to be ready for tomorrow's wonderful activities!" David said looking back over his shoulder. The campers groaned. "God this shit sucks. "Healthy dinner". Yeah right. Nikki could probably make a healthier dinner. Right Neil?" Max turned his gaze to his friend. Neil nodded before looking around, a confused expression on his face. "Hey, where is Nikki?"
A turquoise haired girl ran through the forest on all fours, leaping over logs. Something had smelled strange and she wanted to see what it was. She was running so fast she almost slammed into a building. Nikki stood up, staring at the strange building. It was a wooden shack. The wood was a midnight black, and it gave of a magical, yet foreboding aura. Nikki ignored that feeling and tried to open the door. The door would not budge. Nikki huffed and looked around searching for a key. She scanned the area, and her eyes fell on a tree that looked a little off. Nikki walked over to it, and saw that there was actually a secret panel. Nikki grinned and opened it.
"Nikki!" "Nikki!" David called out. Oh how did he keep losing campers?! "Nikki!" "Nikki!" Max called out, searching through the tree branches. "Ahh! Max, how did you get up there?! Get down here, that's not very safe!" David yelled. Max glared at him. "Go suck a dick David. Nikki! Where the fuck are you?!" Max yelled, jumping to another tree. "Guys i found some footprints!" Neil shouted, popping up from a bush beside David, effectively scaring the councilor. The group came over and looked at the small footprints in the dirt. They led deep into the forest, and as the sun set, David hurried into the woods, the group of campers behind him.
Nikki slid the old key into the lock, turning it and hearing a satisfying click, before pulling it out. She pocketed the key, since it looked really cool. It was black with some silver symbols on it. She didn't know what they meant, but they looked badass so she didn't care. Nikki stepped inside. She wrinkled her nose as the smell hit her full force. So that's where the smell came from. Nikki looked around and actually jumped back at what she saw. A body sat rotting in the corner, most of the flesh chewed off by magots, but something was off about the body. The legs seemed only half human, as the lower half seemed to be... Reptile like. The bones were thicker, and the feet were like that of a dinosaurs, 3 toed and clawed. She looked more, and saw that the corpse was holding a book. Nikki walked over and ripped the book out of the skeletal hand. The book seemed untouched by nature. It was a silvery beige colour, with a green eye in the middle. Nikki swore that she saw the eye look at her. She grinned and ran out the door, eager to show her friends what she had found.
