Ered sprawled out in her tent, waking from sleep. She, like Nurf, had her own tent. She felt stuffy, like she couldn't breath well, and her legs itched. She stepped outside and decided to take a walk. She walked for 10 minutes, now only a few meters away from the lake, when she felt extreme pain in her neck and legs. She fell onto the soft dirt and her hands flew to her neck, screaming when she felt her skin spitting.

Ered's pants split as her legs merged together, her leg bones being pushed out as her spine extended. Her teeth were forced out of her mouth as blood poured from her gums. She screwed her eyes shut as a third, transparent eyelid grew over each of her eyes. Smaller, sharper teeth grew into her gums. Ered opened her eyes and saw her nails extend and thicken, curving into hooked claws. Webbing grew between her fingers and her ears morphed into something inhuman.

Ered found herself unable to breath, but a small voice in her head told her to get to water. She used her new claws to drag her body along the soft dirt. Ered rolled into the water, taking a large breath. She surfaced to blink out the water and switch to her third eyelid. She dunked back under and looked at where her legs had been.

Instead of legs, she now possessed a shimmering purple tail. At the end of it, she sported a large blue fin, a pinkish magenta colour mixed in. Fins of the same colour flashed near her hips and were her knees would have been. On both of her arms, right below her shoulders, she had more fins, much like the ones on her tail. She twisted and saw a large fin running down half of her back to half of her tail, different shades of purple in colour. She ran a webbed hand up to her neck, where her new gills rested. Her cheeks sported some colourful, flashy scales.

Ered floated in the water, tail swishing, trying to comprehend what had just happened, when she heard muffled screaming coming from the tents. She flicked her powerful tail, breaking the moonlit surface, and cringed when she smelt blood. It seemed her sense of smell had been increased as well. She wanted to help, but she didn't want to risk suffocating again. "This is decidedly uncool." she growled.
