Robert stepped into the forest, John trailing behind him. This would be the day he finally proved that magical creatures exist! While they looked for a place to set up traps, Roberts mind wandered to his old cult leader, Daniel. It had been so long since he had seen his Brother.
They came to a dirt trail near a stream, and Robert commanded John to set up, while he scoped out they area. He strolled along the path, looking for tracks. He stopped suddenly, when he noticed abnormally large wolf tracks and splatters of blood.
He pulled his hunting rifle off his back and tracked the prints. So large... They must be Dire Wolf tracts! He stopped when he heard the crunching of bones. He peered through the bushes, and his eyes lit up.
There, perched on a rock, was a great white wolf. It took another chunk out of the elk it had brought down, clean marks showing on the animals throat. It was so beautiful, so awe inspiring. It reminded him of Daniel, the way it swifty cut the elks flesh. He couldn't kill this magnificent, godly creature.
Robert stepped back, and tensed when he felt something snap under his boot. The wolf swivelled its head, its piercing blue eyes meeting Robert's. They stared at each other for a moment, as if they were old friends.
The wolf cocked its head. "Robert, is that you?" it asked.
Robert stared, mouth agape. That was Daniel's voice! "Daniel?!" he exclaimed. The wolf grinned and its tail cracked as it wagged. "You betcha! Gosh its been a long time since I've seen you. Also, how are you still human? There's something going on here that turns you into creatures of myth." he asked licking his paw to clean himself off.
"I suspected there was magic about, so i preformed a protection incantation. I'm here with John, my assistant, hunting whatever mythical monsters may be here, except you of course." Robert stated.
"Robert, i have all the- WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!" John exclaimed, almost dropping the equipment. Robert turned to John, shoot a quick glare at the frightened young man. "This is my Cult Brother Daniel. And be careful with those guns, their worth more than you are." He spat. Robert turned back to Daniel. "So sorry about him." he said apologetically.
Daniel gave a wolfish grin. "Its no problem. Say, could you help me with something?" he asked politely. Robert bowed. "It would be a honor, my Leader." Daniels grin widened. "Excellent! Just set up those traps there and we'll talk."
