Jasper gently stepped out onto the water, overjoyed that he actually could. The ghost boy had been transformed into a fox spirit just a few days ago, and he had discovered that he had become more alive, which meant that he was finally allowed to leave Spooky Island. He had also aged, so he was bigger now. He grinned and broke out into a run, heading towards Camp Campbell.
David finally stepped down, gently trotting over to the cave Max and Nikki had run into. He breathed a sigh of relief when the trio stepped into view. His face fell when he saw Neil's leg. It was twisted in a unnatural way, and it was soaked in blood. He quickened his pace, rushing over. "Neil! Are you okay? What happened?" he asked worriedly. Neil lifted his head, and began to retell the events that had transpired earlier as David lifted him onto his back.
Max didn't show emotion often, but he felt that the terror he felt was justifiable. Neil had told them that not only was someone hunting them, but that Daniel had returned, and had been transformed into a wolf. "That's great! Daniel can help us out by watching the campers while me and Gwen go and find Nurf." David chirped happily. Neil shook his head. "No, i saw his teeth, they were covered in blood. Plus i'm pretty sure everyone remembers what happened the last time he was here." he said with a shudder. David had a confused face, but decided not to say anything. The group continued on in relative silence, trying to get back to the camp as quickly as they could.
David's ears perked forward as they neared the camp. They were almost there! His pace quickened, and he felt happy.
Until something slammed into him and dug its claws into his side.
oohhh small chapter with a suspenseful ending!
