"Today we're going to be learning about art." Lovina announced as she passed out the art smocks.
"Try mixing the colours together." Lovina knew she was going to regret this, so she wore an old dress. Children plus paint equals paint.

"Miss Lovina!" Mateo waved his hand around like crazy.
"Yes, Mateo." Lovina smiled as she walked over to Mateo.
"What's your favourite colour?" Mateo asked.
"Um... I would have to say red like a tomato." Lovina replied.
"I'm going to draw a bunch of tomatoes!" Mateo smiled as he poured out more red paint.
"Draw me a picture of the most beautiful tomato!" Lovina encouraged. As a teacher, her job was to inspire the children and help them grow.

After school, Antonio was on time to get Mateo this time.
"Hola Mateo." Antonio hugged his son. "Hola Lovina."
"That's Miss Lovina to you." Lovina replied as she raised an eyebrow.
"So how did things go with your sister?" Antonio asked.
"We fought then she braided my hair, so I would say okay." Lovina shrugged.

"Papá! Papá!" Mateo pulled his father's pants to get his attention.
"You promised!" Mateo pouted.
"Mateo insisted on inviting you to my restaurant for dinner." Antonio scratched the back of his head.
"Please Miss Lovina!" Mateo pouted while giving her the puppy eyes.
"Alright, I don't have anything planned tonight." Lovina shrugged as she caved.

"Here, we'll come to pick you up at 8:00." Antonio gave Lovina his phone number.

"I'll see you guys later. Bye Mateo." Lovina waved.

When Lovina got home she texted Antonio.

L: it's me bastard
A: hola miss Lovina :)
L: here's the address [420 pasta street]
A: thanks :3
L: the fucks with the weird face things
A: lo seinto :'(
L: t(•_•)t  two can play that game motherfucka
A: okay you win

Lovina threw her phone on the bed.
She pulled out a black dress with a red cardigan. She put her dark auburn hair in a ponytail.
"I know you won't cooperate, I'm not even going to bother." She said to her hair curl.

She put on her signature red headband and she was ready to go.

The door bell suddenly rang.
"Just a second!" Lovina shouted as she ran down the stairs.

When she opened the door she saw Antonio and Mateo. Mateo was holding some flowers.
"He insisted on buying you flowers." Antonio chuckled.
"I hope you like them." Mateo smiled.
"Thank you, Mateo. They're beautiful." Lovina knelt down and smiled at Mateo.
"I'm going to go put these in a vase before we go. Come in." Lovina gestured as she walked to the kitchen.
"Wow, Miss Lovina, your house is really nice!" Mateo exclaimed. "I thought you lived at school with all the other teachers."
"No, I live here with my sister." Lovina laughed.

Lovina snipped the ends of the flowers and put them in the vase.
"Alright, I'm ready," Lovina said as she walked towards the door.

The restaurant was beautiful.
"Mr. Fernandez Carriedo, right this way, sir." A waitress led them to their table.
As they sat down more waiters came and put down red wine for the adults and apple juice for Mateo.

The entrée was a bowl of delicious tomato soup.
"Wow, this is really good," Lovina exclaimed.
"It's my favourite soup!" Mateo smiled.
"Family recipe." Antonio smiled.

Dinner was amazing.
"In  America, it's normal to eat dinner at 5:30, but in Spain, we eat at 9:00," Antonio explained.
"I never got used to the time, so I still eat at that time."

"Papá one day are you going to take me to Spain?" Mateo asked.
"Of course, but only when you're a little bit older." Antonio smiled at his son.
"I've never been to Spain, I've been to Italy a bunch of times to visit my nonno." Lovina added to make conversation.
"What's a Nonno?" Mateo asked.
"Nonno means grandfather in Italian." Lovina explained to the young boy.

"Papá are we having churros for dessert?" Mateo asked.
"Si!" Antonio smiled.
"Yay!" Mateo cheered.

Lovina chucked. They were such a happy family. Mateo adored his father. Antonio did everything he could to make him happy and would do anything for his son. Lovina had been told that Mateo's mother had died in childbirth. Which broke her heart.

Dessert was amazing. The churros were to die for.
"Miss Lovina! These are my favourite." Mateo smiled.
"They're so good, I understand why." Lovina smiled back.

Antonio loved the way Lovina smiled. He could tell she had a soft spot for kids. She was a very beautiful woman. He didn't care about her bad habit of swearing, that didn't matter to him. What did matter was how she treated Mateo. Antonio could tell that she treated Mateo like her own. She was so motherly around Mateo, yet she had no children.

"How do you guys eat like this?" Lovina questioned.
"We're used to it I guess." Antonio shrugged.
"Oh my god, I'm so full," Lovina whined.

During the car ride home, Mateo fell asleep.

"Did you have fun tonight?" Antonio asked.

"Yes, I did, bastard." Lovina replied.
"Mateo's crazy about you. All ever talks about is you." Antonio looked back at his son.
"Well he's a good kid, doesn't get in trouble like the other kids." Lovina shrugged.
"So I was wondering if you wanted to go out another time, but without Mateo?" Antonio asked.
"You're trying to fatten me up, you sick disgusting bastard!" Lovina turned her head.
"Lovi- I mean Miss Lovina, I would never do such thing, I promise," Antonio said in defence.
"Whatever bastard." Lovina crossed her arms.
"I'll take that as a yes." Antonio smiled.
"It's a whatever." Lovina corrected.

Lovina would be lying if she said she didn't like Antonio. It wasn't that he was very attractive; which he was. It was the way he took care of his son. That's what made Lovina fall. The way he was willing to do anything for him.

'Ugh, why stupid heart do you make me fall in love?' Lovina thought as she felt like slamming her head into the dashboard.
