Chapter 11

Lovina noticed that Benjamin was in the back.
"Sorry he had to come with us. Ludwig was supposed to watch him but he had wedding stuff to plan." Madeline didn't take her eyes off the road for a second.
"It's no problem." Lovina kept looking back at the baby.

The real reason Benjamin came along was that Feliciana had told Madeline to bring him.
"My sister is a swearing hothead so be warned and don't take it personally if she calls you bastard, she calls everyone bastard. She also has a big soft spot for kids, especially babies. She won't swear or be a dick in a child's presence, so bring Benjamin." Feliciana's warning replayed in Madeline's mind.

"Alright we're here!" Madeline happily exclaimed.
Madeline hopped out of the car to get the stroller.
"Can you get Benjamin?" She asked.
"Yeah," Lovina got out of the car and opened the car's back door to get Benjamin.

Benjamin looked up at Lovina with his big red eyes. Lovina unbuckled his car seat and picked him up.
Benjamin made started to make baby sounds Lovina held him.

Lovina walked over to Madeline who was unfolding the stroller.
Once the stroller was unfolded Lovina placed Benjamin in the stroller.
"There we go." She said softly as made sure Benjamin was comfortable.
"Normally he's fussy with strangers. He seems to really like you." Madeline smiled as she pushed the stroller towards the mall.

The nail salon was close to the entrance.
"Welcome! Do you two have an appointment?" The woman asked.
"Yes, it's under the name Williams." Madeline spoke quietly and shyly.
"Ah yes, come with me." The woman led them to the fancy massage chairs.

"So what's it like being a teacher?" Madeline asked.
"It's never boring. Last night I was up working on stencils and today I had to clean all the dolls because one of the kids had been drawing on them." Lovina sighed.
"Wow... also I've been meaning to ask if you're school has a preschool. A lot of preschools have been moving in with elementary schools." Madeline asked.
"Next year a preschool is going to be moving in." Lovina confirmed.
"Thank goodness! I'll definitely be checking them out in a couple of years." Madeline giggled.

'She's not as bad as I thought.' Lovina thought to herself.

The two girls had decided on the same colour but from different brands and with different names.
Lovina picked Tomato Red by Nail Magic and Madeline picked Maple Leaf Red by Magic Nail.

"So if you don't mind me asking, who was that guy pushing you around at the grocery store?" Madeline asked.
"If I tell you, you have to swear on Benjamin's life not to tell another living soul, not even Benjamin, about it. Do you swear?" Lovina asked.
"Um... yes I swear." Madeline gulped.
"He's my new boyfriend, but he's also the father of one of my students." Lovina looked down at the last part.
"Lovina Vargas! You naughty naughty girl." Madeline giggled.
"We have to keep it secret for the next couple of months. We have to wait until his son graduates kindergarten." Lovina explained.
"When does school end?" Madeline asked.
"June 23." Lovina replied.
"That's 6 months!" Madeline was shocked.
"I know, I know." Lovina shrugged.

"Benji, please stop crying." Madeline rocked Benjamin while sitting on a bench out side of the nail salon.
"I think he's hungry, I'm just going to feed him real quick." Madeline started to feed Benjamin.

"Eww! That's fucking disgusting!" A group of teenagers shouted.
"You know what's fucking disgusting! You motherfuckers making comments about my friend who's being a good mother. Now fuck off!" Lovina shouted at them.
"Stupid bitch." One of the girls said as she clung to her boyfriend.
"Clingy hoe." Lovina shout back as she flipped her off.

Lovina looked at Madeline who was teary-eyed.
"Thank you, but you didn't have to do that." Madeline let Benjamin finish up then wiped her eyes.
"No, I wanted to put those fuckers in there place." Lovina covered her mouth. She had just sworn in front a child... many times.
"Dio Mio! I just sworn in front of a bambino!" Lovina freaked out.
"It's fine beside he's way to young to say anything that sounds anything close to words and he doesn't understand." Madeline tried to get Lovina to calm down.
"Next I'll be swearing in front of my class. Dio Mio! I'm such an idiota!" Lovina face palmed.
"Lovina, it's fine. Really. Gil has accidentally sworn in front of Benjamin so many times I had to start a swear jar." Madeline tried but the Italian wasn't listening.

Madeline pulled out her phone and called Feliciana.
"Hey Feli, What do I do? Lovina is freaking out. A group teenagers made fun of me for breastfeeding and Lovina got made so she swore a couple of times, which is no big deal. Now she's freaking out because she swore in front of Benjamin." Madeline spoke quickly.
"Um... that's never happened before so I don't know what to do..." Feliciana said oblivious to how panicked Madeline was.
