Beyond the black lights

Chapter 24

The competition is tomorrow and still I don't know how will I get there?

We all had breakfast without him, I began to feel guilty but when friends go to him they come back alone without him. No one talks about it as if it's something normal. I went to Dana I asked her if she can go and talk to Ali. She said that she wasn't waiting for my suggestion and she added that it's all my fault. When I asked her what she is saying she replied that I am the closest one to him yet I didn't try to talk to him. I felt relieved at the moment that she doesn't know anything about what happened between us. At night, I listened again to the sound of the guitar so I went to his door...

Next day, I woke up early just to get ready to travel back again to the place where I left. I wrote a note and left it on my bed, telling them that I will come tomorrow morning because I must watch the surfing competition, I took my small bag, the invitation -but wait a second- where's the letter which I wrote to Aamir? I kept searching for it for half an hour but I didn't find it, I thought I could pass it to the post by my way. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it also the cap has been waiting for me 15 minutes, it took from us 6 hours not 4 neither 5 to reach the place. I went quickly to the place of the competition, I arrived at 1 o'clock. I called Samantha -the girl who helped me and her brother Bradden- she was really happy knowing that I came she added that Bradden will also be happy if he knew that I came. Samantha gave me something to wear, I got to know that this was her brother's t-shirt, she was wearing something similar as well.

5 minutes later, The competition started. It begins by groups -2 or three people- who make performances. I've watched 5 of them and here was bradden's group. They were really amazing, following the same moves ... that was Fun-tastic. After that, they all took rest to begin with the individual surfing. Bradden came to his sister, he was amazed seeing me standing beside her, he greeted me so much and asked me about his performance. We kept talking triple of us.

And now it's time of the individual competition. I kept watching one after the other, seeing who failed and who succeeded got to worry about Bradden who his sister has mentioned that this competition means a lot to him -competitors are not easy- After then, they called Bradden's name, he looked at his sister as his sister nodded her head then I waved to him -thumbed my finger-

Watching his performance, I knew how much this really meant to him. I called his name loudly just to support him, he made an amazing, difficult moves and here he finished. People clapped their hands for him. After that, he came to have some rest. He drank water and we kept watching another 17 performances as I guess. And now, supposedly it's time to declare the names of the winners. The judge just declared the first winner who took the 3rd place (Antonio) ... the 2nd we were all worried including me, the 2nd was (Samuel) it became more worrying till the judge declared the 1st place which was for (Bradden). He hugged his sister, kissed her forehead, he looked at me with eyes full of happiness then he smiled.

-He went quickly to receive the trophy- After celebrating his triumph, I told them that i had to go but Samantha refused and offered me to stay  for dinner. After then  we went to a very beautiful restaurant on a mountain, we sat triple of us and we kept talking and looking at the pictures were we took at the morning. I spent a really beautiful time with those two brother-sister. And now it was time to go to the hotel, to have some rest, they drove me to the hotel and before saying goodbye, they just gave me a bracelet and our photograph as a souvenir and they told me, they would be happy if I visited them again later. I went to sleep, but before sleeping I held my mobile, I didn't see any missed calls nor messages. Except for Tamara, who was checking if I arrived safely!

Next day, I took my small bag, left the hotel at 9 o'clock then went to take a cap. Fortunately I found one quickly and I arrived back at the specific time, the way didn't take much time. Reaching the house, they all came to welcome me. Ali was watching Television in the living room. Dana came to hug me, I see she was happy by my arrival where I doubted that. I got in and they made breakfast for me. I was thinking about if it was the perfect time to talk to Ali or should I ignore at least for today? But I didn't sustain seeing him acting like that because I'm not used to see those actions coming from him. So in  fact, I faced Ali, we both stood in front of each other. I felt he wanted to talk but then both of us completed our way as if nothing had happened...
