Chapter 4 - Five Years Later

It was five years later.

Adrien Agreste had found himself a girlfriend, Chloe Bourgeois.

He lived with her in a flat.

He didn't get on too well with her. Things were very tense, and some nights he lay awake, thinking of the life he had before. The life as Chat Noir, and...

A life with Marinette and Ladybug.

His heart ached, filled with fresh grief, as he thought of them. He realised his feelings for Marinette.

The next morning, he made Chloe breakfast, who groaned and moaned. Chloe went to work and so did Adrien.

Adrien came home first. He thought of the comic that Marinette had left him. He rifled in his drawer, and found the comic. He had just opened it when a shriek filled the room.

"Adrien Agreste!!!"

Adrien turned round. Chloe faced him, her face angry and red.

"Why are you reading Maritrash's stupid comic??" She asked furiously.

"Don't call her Maritrash!" He said defensively. "It's Marinette. She left me a comic. For me."

Chloe shrieked again. "I...don't....CARE!!" She took the comic and threw it across the room, undoing its string binding. Adrien rushed over to fix it.

"Oh my god.....you'd choose Marinette over me?!"

"No, no." Adrien said, but deep down, he knew he was lying.

Chloe huffed. Adrien lifted his arms.

"I'm going for a walk," he said, and slammed the door behind him.

He walked down the seemingly endless steps, and through the main door. He raced off through the busy city background of Paris.

"I wish you'd come back, Marinette," He said to himself, while passing a shadowy area.

From the shadows, a figure was watching. After Adrien had passed, they stepped from the shadows. They had shoulder blade length hair, tied up into bunches. Her hair was a shiny darkish blue, and her eyes bluebell. She had a pink top and blue jeans.

"Thank you, Adrien." Marinette said, looking up to the sky. "Thank you so very much."
