Paternity test

The next morning Jessica woke up before Laurent. She unwrapped herself from his grasp, looking at him remembering everything he had said the night before. She was happy that the old loving and faithful Lau was back. She loved seeing the sincerity on his face as he apologized for everything. She felt like she could finally trust him again. She hasn't been able to feel his body for 2 months, and after the argument she was scared she never would again. She got up grabbing a towel getting ready to take a shower. She rubbed her stomach as she walked down the hallway, feeling that her baby was going to have a beautiful father. She stepped in, turning the shower on, getting ready to go take the test with Lau. She was still a little nervous but after what he said last night she felt like she didn't need to be. He told her that either way he would take care of it. As she thought about it she started to remember what Larry said as well. She remembered Larry saying the same thing. She remember Larry telling her he loved her. She remembered the kiss, and the sincerity in his face. She tried to shake the memory off but it just wouldn't go away. She got out the shower walking back down the hallway to the bedroom. Lau was already up and dressed. "Good morning baby." He said as he walked over to hug her wet body. She smiled hugging him back. "morning ." She walked to her side of the bed grabbing a cream sweatshirt. "Are you ready to go?" She said a little nervous. Lau looked at her sensing the anxiety. "Yes baby....don't worry I told you it's not going to make a difference whose it is. I will love you either way and like I said that's my baby, even if it isn't mine." He hugged her again grabbing his keys and phone off the dresser. He started heading to the door looking back with a smile."i'll wait in the car...come out when you're ready, okay?" She nodded letting him go out the room. She reached for her mirror about to put her lipstick on when her phone started to vibrate. She picked it up looking at the name seeing that it said "Larry". She quickly looked out the window seeing Laurent getting into the car. She took a deep breath and answer the phone. "Hello?" She said in a nervous voice. "Jessica listen..." Larry said sounding like he was rushing. Jessica was even more concerned now. "... I'm going to say this before Mel gets back okay?" Jess looked out the window answering nervously "..okay." Larry took a deep breathe before he spoke "....everything I told you last night was true.I want to help you with this baby. I really do love you I wasn't just drunk....Why do you think I took Mel somewhere private on her birthday? I couldn't stand to see you guys pretending like you were happy anymore!!I know you're not happy with him Jess. I know you know deep down that I will treat you better. I know this might be wrong and I love my brother but I love you too, and I'm tired of seeing you pretend like you're happy with him. Come with me Jess if you really want to be happy!!!" There was a long pause. Jess was speechless. She looked at her phone and back out the window trying to figure out what she was going to say. She could hear the sincerity in his voice. She wanted to tell Larry what Lau had said last night, but before she could answer he hung up the phone. She knew that phone call would haunt her for the rest of the day. His voice would keep replaying over and over in her head. The one thing she could remember the most out of the whole phone call was "i'm tired of seeing you pretending like you're happy!!" she didn't know how to respond to that. She didn't know if she really was pretending or not. She didn't know if Laurent was pretending or not. She didn't know if Larry would treat her better than Laurent. She didn't know anything anymore. She thought she knew. Her thoughts were broken when Lau honked the horn. She looked at the clock rushing downstairs and out the door. She hopped in the passenger seat with a concerned look on her face. "What's wrong baby?!" Said Lau as he started the car. "nothing just drive!" Jess said as she put her seatbelt on looking out the window. "Oh...ok..." said Lau shocked by how she answered. He thought she was probably stressed about the test so he just drove off without another question. The car ride was fairly silent after that. They got to the doctors office telling the lady at the desk their names, walking back into it an empty room. The doctor came in telling Laurent to go sit in the waiting room. After 30 minutes of thinking by himself it was finally his turn. His took him about 10 minutes. The doctor invited both of them back into the room. The doctor told them that the results will be shipped in the mail in two days. They shook their heads agreeing and walked back out getting back in their car. The trip back was not as silent as the trip there. "If it is Alec's ... should I at least tell him?" Jessica said almost in tears. She was nervous and scared even though Laurent did tell her that he would take care of it. "I don't like him, but it's only right... I would want to know if it was me." Lau said trying to hold his emotions back. The thought of Alec and the whole situation was starting to make him mad. "Well..." said Jessica looking out the window. "...two days." Lau looked at her with a blank stare "...yeah two days."
