The next morning I woke up to a yelling sister.
"XAVIER! WAKE UP!" She shook me around and I groaned as I tried to ignore her.
"Five more minutes..." I turned my head towards the wall away from her and pulled my pillow over my head.
"XAVIER! COME ON! WE HAVE A SITUATION! I NEED YOUR HELP!"
"Alexis! It's Saturday! I want to sleep..." I groaned again.
"Fine. I guess you can come see our guest later then. Turd." I pulled my head out from under my pillow, my hair messy and all over the place.
"Guest?" Alexis nodded and ran back downstairs in her shorts and tank top from the night before. I quickly got up and followed in my sweatpants. When I got downstairs I was left confused when I saw the girl from before. The same one that thought I would bite her. She sat next to my sister on the couch and they both turned to look at me. I sighed then walked to the kitchen.
"Bro, this is Alkia."
"I know." I said sounding aggravated. I walked to the fridge and grabbed a blood pack from inside. I walked over to one of our cupboards we had and opened it so I could grab one of my plastic glasses. I cut the corner of the pouch off and poured it into the cup. I walked over to the living room, throwing the empty pouch in the trash as I did. I sat on the love-seat next to the couch the two girls sat on and took a sip of my cup.
"I... wanted to apologize..." She sounded nervous and I could hear her heart beating a little faster.
"Apologize? For what?" Alexis asked curious.
"U-um... I assumed... he was going to..." She turned and looked at Alexis. I could see the fear in her eyes. "I thought he was going to suck my blood..."
"Is that it?" Alkia nodded in response and Alexis giggled. "Alright. He doesn't do that."
"B-but... he's a..."
"I'm a vampire. Not a monster." I said annoyed as I set my cup down.
"I-I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for you to take it like that! I swear!"
"How else was I supposed to take what you said?" She fell silent. Alexis glared at me.
"He's an ass sometimes but really. He doesn't drink blood. He just didn't eat yesterday morning." She smiles at her.
"So... what's... that?" She pointed at my cup.
"Oh that?" I looked at Alexis as I took another drink. "That's blood."
"But you just said..."
"He drinks blood. He just doesn't drink it from people."
"Where does he get it then?" She asked. She was obviously confused by the look on her face.
"The hospital donates it to us. He can't go for very long without blood. But he's able to eat normal food and drink normal drinks. He just needs to drink a pouch a day. It's like a Caprisun for us." She smiles.
"Oh... so... that's blood that's been donated?" Alexis nodded. "Oh!" She smiled and looked at me. "I'm so sorry for assuming that you would..."
"Yeah." I took the last drink and got up. I walked over to the sink in the kitchen and started washing out the cup.
"Does he always use plastic cups?" She asked Alexis.
"Yeah. He says they're easy to clean and if he can't clean them off he can easily replace them."
"Oooh. That's so cool." Alexis giggled.
"Yeah. He can be smart sometimes. SOMETIMES!" I knew she was talking to me because she yelled it to get my attention. I growled under my breath and glared at her over my shoulder.
"Oh, and I love your hair Alexis. I wish mine could get that long."
"It's okay. It takes forever to brush though. I like your's though. Only a few people can really pull off short hair and you have!" Alkia giggled and I groaned loudly.
"Get a room!"
