You were laying in Jungkook's bed, one hand flipping the pages of your science textbook, the other holding a slice of juicy, sweet, and certainly delicious Watermelon. Jungkook was sitting on the wooden tiles of his bedroom, switching from writing in his notebook to answering questions in the textbook with one hand and eating a slice of watermelon also.

The rhythmic tap of his pencil went unnoticed by the both of you, yet it still managed to make concentrating all the more difficult for Jungkook. His eyes had a mind of their own, wandering off to whatever shiny object managed to grab their focus for a second or two.

But he wasn't so strong as to resist the pull of your simple presence in his room.

His wondrous gaze always made its way back to you and–had he not conceded utter, total, and complete defeat to the feelings pouring out of his golden, bleeding heart–Jungkook might've stubbornly denied that you were, in fact, the reason he'd given up on a joint assignments and a decent attention span.

Now gazing up at you through his eyelashes, Jungkook felt his cheeks flare up. God, you were so beautiful to him, you were one of the most beautiful people he had ever seen in his life. You made him so nervous whenever you were around him–in fact, whenever he even thought of you, his heart went millions of miles each minute. What made it worse is the fact that you didn't even know it.

Jungkook knew he shouldn't feel this way about you, his best friend, but he couldn't help it. He's felt this way for years but never found the courage to tell you. Whenever he tried, he would just chicken out and act like he was just joking when in reality, it was far from that.

You, oblivious to Jungkook's staring, spoke up from your spot on his bed, eyebrows creased in confusion, "Hey, Kook, you got the answer for number six?".

Jungkook jumped a bit from being startled by your words and quickly looked down at his own textbook. "U-Uh, B!" Jungkook rushed out and snapped his head up to look at you. You raised an eyebrow at his strange behavior, but just shrugged it off shortly after and circled the B option on your paper.

Jungkook sighed in frustration at his actions, he hated this so much. Why couldn't he just tell you how he felt and be done with it?! Damn, why are feelings so weird?

"Thanks, Kook!" You said and winked playfully at him, causing his heart to race for miles on end.

He had to get over this crush and fast before he got hurt. He knew you weren't one for relationships, so why would you say yes to him? But he wanted to tell you so bad, that it hu-

"Y/N," Jungkook blurted out before he could stop it. You raised your eyebrows, still looking down at your textbook, urging him to go on.

'Here goes nothing', Jungkook practically screamed in his head. His hands grew sweaty and clammy and his heart felt like it was about to jump out of his chest like the Kool Aid man and say 'OH HELL NO!'.

"I love you," Jungkook sighed at the feeling of the weights being lifted off of his shoulders. You snapped your head up to look at him, your eyes wide and mouth agape; the slice of the now forgotten watermelon slipped out of your fingers and splattered against your notebook.

Jungkook instantly started regretting ever telling you, but it was now or never right? Jungkook squeezed the pencil in between his fingers so tight, it would've crumbled to pieces had it not been for the foam pencil pad that blocked off any damage to that area of the pencil; but hell, even that had a risk of breaking, especially with the next three words that had slipped out of your lips–the three words he had hoped he would never get a chance to hear coming from you, the three words that he knew would forever ruin him, the three words that he would've never been prepared for in the past.
