"I promise, Tae, I will be home in no time. I just need to stop by the store really quick. There is something that just came in and I wanted to get it before it was sold out again." You told your boyfriend over the phone. You were walking down the street, going through the market place towards the shop that you knew Taehyung liked to frequent. It was pretty late already, almost one in the morning. But there was no other time that you were able to go to that shop. Between the short amount of time that you were able to spend with Taehyung and the time that you spent at work, you were only able to do things like this in the hours after midnight.

You knew that Taehyung hated you being out this late at night without him, but you didn't know when else you could do it. But you also didn't want to keep it a secret that you were going out. You were partially scared about being out and not letting at least one person know where you were. "Okay, but please stay safe. I am going to be out of the studio soon, so maybe I can meet up with you later." He told you as he rose his voice in an attempt to be heard clearly over the sound of Jimin and Jungkook yelling in the background. The boys were still at the studio, getting ready for their upcoming concert by running through their performances over and over again. You honestly felt so bad for them. It seemed as though they were never done working.

"Ok, I love you Taehyung. I will probably be done before you, so we can meet up... Hm, how about that one late night convenient store that you and the boys go to after practice?" You suggested as you came up to the shop that you were looking for. Taehyung agreed, sounding distracted as he spoke. He quickly told you that he loved you before hanging up the phone. You placed your phone in your bag and entered the anime shop.

The shop was one of Taehyung's favorite places to go at the market. It was filled with dolls, figurines, CDs, DVDs, manga, even cosplay. It was a wonderland for anyone who loved anime. So when you heard that Taehyung's latest favorite anime's box set finally came in, you knew that you had to come and get it for him. "Um, hello sir, I am the girl who called in about the box set." You told the man behind the counter. He was a sweet looking old man. He nodded his head, starting to make his way towards the back of the shop to grab you the inventory you were looking for.

As the old man was in the back, you heard some more people come into the shop. You glanced over your shoulder and stared at the four boys that had come in. The boys looked like the typical guys that were out at this time. They reeked of alcohol and looked like they couldn't even see straight. One of the boys looked up at you, a smile starting to cross his face. You looked away from him, feeling a bit awkward, and turned back to the back door that the old man had gone through. "Hey there girly." You heard one of the guys call out to you in a slurred voice.

You tried to keep from paying attention to him. You straightened your back and placed your hands on the counter. The boys didn't move closer to you or anything, luckily, but they continued to talk about you or call you. "I think maybe she is deaf. But who cares, she is hot." Another guy said. You secretly hoped that they would listen to him and just assume you couldn't hear them and leave you alone.

"Maybe we should get her attention some other way." A third guy said. Your body stiffened. You could hear heavy footsteps approaching you, but before they reached you, the owner came out of the back room. He held the box set in his hands and gave the patrons a once over. You could tell from the look in his eyes that he was worried about you. He glanced from you to the boys behind you, but he didn't say anything. And you didn't say anything. You simply reached out for the box set and paid. The boys had left some time during your transactions, sounding as though they were heading towards another car. You took the bag with the box set in it and made your way in the opposite direction of the popular bars.

"Hey Tae, I just wanted to let you know that I am on my way to the convenient store. I will meet you there. Is there anything you and the guys would want me to buy for you before you get here?" You asked into the phone as you made your way down the street. You had called your boyfriend as soon as you left the shop. There was something about the empty street that made you a bit nervous. Calling him made you feel better. Almost safe. "I know you are busy. I will let you go so you don't have to stay any longer. I will see you when you get out." You told him as you hung up. You didn't want to keep him distracted, so you would rather just hurry to the store so you were somewhere bright and public.

As you made your way, you heard what sounded like someone calling after you from afar. You didn't turn though. If it was Taehyung, you would know it. So you just picked up the pace, knowing you were still a few blocks away from your destination. "Hey, girly, don't you know it is impolite to ignore people who are calling you." The guy from the anime shop reminded you as he grabbed you by the wrist and spun you around. You looked up at him with fear clear in your eyes. He laughed when you tried to pull away from him, still clearly inebriated.

"Can you please let go of me." You asked in your best attempt to sound tough. The man laughed at you, pulling you even closer to him and placing his hand on your waist. You pressed your hands against his chest, trying to push him away the best you could.

"Wow, so the bitch isn't deaf. She's just rude." He informed his friends. They all laughed with him, starting to come closer towards you. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, and you were sure that this man could feel it in your wrist. His grip tightened around you and he pushed you closer towards his friends. "You know what boys; I think we need to teach this girl some manners."

There were tears filling your eyes, blurring your vision, as the weight of what was about to happen began to fall on you. You were in trouble and you had no idea what to do. You knew that you couldn't fight these men off on your own, and with the streets practically abandoned, there was no one who could help you... or even call the cops. "You won't be teaching anyone anything!" A booming voice broke through the laughter of the men and the racing thoughts in your mind. One of the men moved slightly, allowing you just enough of an opening to see who had spoken.

Taehyung was standing almost ten feet away from you and the men. He sounded nothing like himself. He didn't even look like himself. There was a rage in his eyes that you had never imagined you would ever associate with the lovable Taehyung. He started walking towards you guys. He seemed so cool, almost relaxed as he moved with the ease and smoothness of a snake; preparing to snap at any moment towards its unsuspecting prey.

The man who held you pulled you closer to him again, causing the bag on your wrist to shake and scrap against your leg. As soon as Tae saw the man pull on you, he started sprinting. He ran straight up to the man, ducking below his friend, and grabbing him by the throat. The man let go of you, and you stumbled back, teetering as you tried to keep your balance. You watched as Taehyung threw the man onto the ground with strength that you could not imagine from him. He held the man down, glancing up only once to make sure that his friends understood he meant business.

They did. As soon as their friend's body made contact with the ground, they started to scurry away like the cockroaches that they were. The man who was on the ground was shaking under the pressure that Taehyung was placing on his throat. "Wow... dude... I'm sorry. I didn't now she was taken." He tried to justify in a weak voice.

"That is no excuse. You will never touch a woman the way you touched her. You will never talk to a woman the way you talked to her. And you will apologize to her." Taehyung demanded.

The man looked at you, straining to see you in the distance that you stood. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He repeated over and over again until your boyfriend seemed satisfied.

Taehyung let go of his throat roughly and stood up straight. He walked over to you, placing both hands on your face and staring down into your eyes. "Please, please promise me you will never walk outside alone this late ever again. If you want to go on late night adventures, wait for me. I want to be there to protect you. Okay?" He asked in a completely serious tone.

You nodded your head, rubbing the tears out of your eyes. Once you were able to see clearly, you lifted the bag that was still securely on your wrist. "I couldn't wait for you because I wanted to bring this to you as a surprise."

Taehyung stared down at the bag in confusion. He reached inside and pulled out the box set, his eyes widening as soon as he recognized what it was. "Aish, jagi, you shouldn't have gotten me this. It is amazing. I love it. But please, next time just wait until the morning or something. This wasn't worth you almost getting hurt." He scolded you, his voice returning to its slightly playful tone. He leaned down and gave you a quick kiss before wrapping his arm around you and walking you back to his dorm.
