Avi:

"Now, ya can't tell anyone. Ya' hear me? Top secret." Says Hagrid.

"I understand, sir."

"Alrigh' then, back into class."

I join Scott, who raise his eyebrows. I shrug. "What?"

"What?" Scott says disbelievingly. "Someone's acting a bit shady."

"Who, me?"

"Yes you." He nudges my shoulder. "Why were you standing in a secluded area of our Care of Magical Creatures class with the teacher?"

"He wanted to know if I wanted to do extra-curricular activities." I figure this is a safe bet. Care of Magical Creatures is my favourite class, and I'm pretty good with animals.

Scott, who I can tell is still skeptical, turns back to his Jarvey. A Jarvey resembles an overgrown ferret, but it can talk. Not very intelligibly of course, but a few short, and often rude, phrases. We've been trying to teach them how to introduce themselves, and so far, only I have managed. Scott's keeps calling him a bastard, and a couple of other choice names.

"My name's Hubert." Mine says.

"Hello, Hubert. How are you?" I say, crouching so that we're eye-level.

"My name's Hubert." It repeats.

I sigh, faking a smile. "Can you say, I'm good thank you, how are you?"

"My name's Hubert."

Scott laughs behind me and I groan.

"Alrigh' everybody, pack it up!" Hagrid yells over the babble of excited Gryffindors and Slytherins. Ravenclaw versus Gryffindor tonight on the Quidditch pitch. I play Beater, Scott plays Chaser. Our friendKevin plasy on the Ravenclaw team playing Beater. Kirstie in Slytherin plays Keeper, and our other friend Mitch, plays Seeker on the Hufflepuff team. It was our mutual love of Quidditch, and the fact we were all put on a boat together on our first day, that made us such close friends in the first place. Scott and I pack up and hurry to our common room. Our Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher had given us a bucket-load of homework, and we have to finish it by tomorrow. We scribble down the finishing touches on the Unforgivable Curses, and head to the dining hall. People call good luck wishes as we pass, and we thank them with broad smiles. We're ready.

Kirstie:

I sit with my team at the head of the table, talking tactics. Even though we're not playing, it's the first game of the season, we all know how essential it is to get a head-start and view our oppnents skills. I catch Kevin's eye over at the Ravenclaw's table and he smiles. We all know whoever wins get's bragging rights over the other team, be it Scott and Avi or Kevin alone.

I walk out with the rest of the school into the summery night. It hasn't gotten too cold yet, and a light breeze blows through the air. Perfect Quidditch condtitions. I take a seat beside Mitch in the stands, and watch the teams come out. We're pretty high up, which is good when the game starts, but we can't see much of what's going on on the pitch. I can see Scott though, with his brilliant white hair.

"Captains," calls Madame Hooch, her voice amplified with the help of her wand. "Shake hands. I want a nice, clean game with all players abiding by the rules. May the best house... win!" And with that she blows her whistle.

I cheer as the teams soar up into the air. The Bludgers and Snitch shoot free of their restraint and the Quaffle gets thrown into the air.

"Scott Hoying from Gryffindor takes the Quaffle." Calls the commentator, Esther Kaplan. "He passes it off to Tori Kelly, who passes it to- AND THE BLUDGER NEARLY CLIPS HER! Nice one from Kevin Olusola on the Ravenclaw team. The Quaffle drops into the hands of Ryan Parma of Ravenclaw, he shoots, HE SCORES! Ten points to Ravenclaw!"
