EDITED

...how embarassing ohmaga

My fingertips grasped onto the cold metal handle. Quickly i walked in trying to avoid the people who just witnessed me moments before in my awkwardness. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. This is it. I opened the door to a new lifestyle I soon had to get used to.

Students were by their lockers, walking around with their friends and just waiting for the day to begin. While I'm just here waiting for the day to end already. Call me pessimistic and all that but how would you feel if you were in my position.

A few people looked at me probably noticing I'm new around here. I kept my emotion calm and put up a front as if I knew what I was doing when in reality I didn't.

I asked a few people where the main office was. They gave me directions but my mind just wasn't cooperating today. Luckily, a petite teacher with short blonde curls was kind enough to walk me to the office. Thank God.

"Uh just go take a right and the main office will the first door on your left." the lady directed me.

"Thank you." I forced a smile.

"Hi, how can I help you dear?" A lady with a sweet voice called from the front desk. She had a welcoming smile, which helped me relax a bit.

"Hello, I'm Casey Reed. I'm a new student here at Aiden Hills and I was just wondering where I'd be able to get my schedule and books?"

"Oh yes! I remember seeing your file. Come with me, I am Ms.Carol and I'm in charge for all the student schedules. I happen to have yours in one of my folders in my seperate office. You're an excellent student Casey, I could tell from your previous grades and all the notes your teachers from California have attached to your file. I hope you find your first day here at Aiden Hills easy and welcoming!"

"Thank You so much." I smiled.

She handed my schedule along with my locker combination.

"You get your textbooks from your classes, alright? See ya later dear. Good luck again on your first day."

The post it note had #429 and 28528 written on it. I'm guessing 329 is my locker and 28528 is my combination. I groaned to myself at the fact that my locker was on the fourth floor. That meant I had to go up four flights of stairs everyday. I wasn't really one to exercise. I have to be in the mood to work out, which was almost never.

I could just find my locker later since I didn't really need to put anything in it at the moment.

I skimmed over my schedule and skipped over to Thursday. Today happened to be Thursday and I have English, Math, Chemistry, APWorld History, Spanish, Lunch, P.E.and lastly, Art.

The first bell rang and suddenly everyone started moving and chatter filled the hallways.

I literally just wanted to extend both my arms out and shove everyone out of my way so I could make it to my first period class without being late. It's only the first day of school and there are couples taking their sweet time passing through.

I survived the whole mob of students and got to my English class just in time before the bell rang. A man in about his mid thirties with average height approached me.

"You must be Casey, right?" I smiled and replied "Yup that's me."

"I'm very well impressed with your file Casey and I'm looking forward to having you in my class this year."

"Oh thank you Mr...?" I lingered for a bit implying that I didn't know his name.

"...Davids. Call me Mr.Davids. Stay there for just a minute, I'll introduce you to the class." He informed me.

Oh gross. I hate being introduced to the class. It was so awkward, like no one really cared about the new kid but teachers always insisted on introducing them. Being introduced is just as bad as playing those classroom games on the first day/week of school where you have to cite your name and share your hobbies, your favorite color, what you want to be when you grow up, all that 'fun' stuff that everyone forgets the next day.

"Listen up guys, this Is Casey. She's new here at Aiden Hills so let's try to make her feel welcome. You may talk amongst yourselves this period while I take care of somethings."

I stood there as I felt everyone's eyes on me. They all nodded their heads in an unsynchronized motion.

"Take a seat anywhere you'd like Casey. I don't really have any assigned seats yet so feel free" Mr.Davids told me. What the heck I was hoping he'd asign me to a seat so I wouldn't have to purposely intrude in anyone's conversation. Barely anyone wants to speak to the new kid.

I did as I was told. There weren't really any empty desks left besides the one that was next to a curly haired girl with black framed glasses. I noticed she had a book in her hand, it looked a lot like the one I just finished months ago. 'Divergent' was what I could make out of the letters from my peripheral vision.

"Hey I love the book that you're reading! It's amazing" I said to the girl next to me. I was probably interrupting her but I needed someone to talk to and not look like a loner. I know, I'm selfish.

"You read Divergent!? I just started reading two days ago and now I'm hooked!" The girl said in an exited tone. I could tell she's was as into it as I was since her eyes never left the book.

"Yeah I read it a few months back. I'm currently in the middle of Insurgent."

"Can we just take a moment of how hot Four is he is so cute I can't even breathe!" She glanced up at me for a brief moment only to lock her eyes back onto the words inked onto the pages.

"Yes. Four is so sexifalicious it pains me."

The both of us started laughing but made sure it wasn't too loud or obnoxious. I haven't even known her for a good five minutes and we're already fangirling to each other. I instantly liked her and I knew a great friendship was forming between the two of us. I remembered I hadn't caught her name. Oops.

"Hey I never asked for your name" I finally said after containing my breath after laughing so hard.

"Alex."

"Casey." Ismiled.

"Well Casey, considering you're new here at AHHS I can show you around if you'd like." She says as she puts her book down and gives me her undivided attention.

"I'm widditt" I giggled.

"No problem girl, I got you. This is a huge school and I know my ways around it pretty well"

I couldn't help but smile at how easy it was to talk to Alex. I'm so thankful that I made a friend before the day actually started. (Praising the heavens rn.)

"So how are you liking Aiden Hills so far?" she asked me.

"Idont know yet. It's too hard to tell."

"Did you see any cute boys yet?"

"yes oh my bajeezums there were so many scattered all over the front of the school. Then there was this one group that had at least five girls drooling over them."

"Oh that's Jack G, Sam, Zayn, and Luke. Jack G is the one with the thick eyebrows, Zayn is the one with the quiff and olive skin, Sam is the one with the light brown hair and then Luke is the one with the blonde hair and pierced lip."

oh damn she got their whole appearances down.

"Do you talk to them?"

"I did a few times before but watch out 'cause they all have their ways with girls." She let out a small chuckle. "I wouldn't recommend associating with them relationship-wise cause all they do is use girls and kick them to the curb once they're done with them. Girls are aware that the guys are douchebags and they're only being used but, they could care any less. They practically drool over them. Talk about self respect huh? I don't get why but there's just something about them that makes girls yearn for them." Alex added.

Yes, I know it's boring but I have to write the fillers before all the good things happen so bare with me.
