As the clouds rolled in, so did trouble.
A trouble nobody expected.
A trouble that was unpredictable.
Gray as they wanted to be, but they bring no rain. No lighting. No thunder. Just gray clouds.
But trouble first started with an awaking, an awakening of a disease that would soon wreak havoc.
It was a Saturday afternoon, but it was still bright outside. Despite the clouds. She rolled out of bed and slipped on her Nike slides. She then walked out of her room and walked to her mother's room to check up on her.
Her mother was getting worse by the day. All the adults were in fact. Some vague illness was going around. It made its victims weak. Horrible blisters, bumps, and boils appeared all over their bodies, and their skin would be so dry, that it would crack and would start bleeding.
Apparently, three men started the outbreak. Their hearts harden and bitter, from the way society "treated" them. They wanted everyone to suffer as they had. So in their bitter state, they decided to create a new kind of disease. Something more sinister than that of cancer itself. As everyone got sick though, they all looked to the scientists. Even the scientists couldn't figure out what was going on. So the world decided that they would just wait and see what happened.
And that's what Jaylynn had to do. Wait and see if her mother if her mother would get any better.
Jaylynn walked into her mother's room, but she peeked inside before she went in. She saw her mother, underneath her covers, breathing slowly. A worried expression crossed her face as she feared for the worst. She just prayed that her mother wasn't dead.
She took off her house shoes and tiptoed into her mother's room. The mother stirred from her sleep. Jaylynn stopped dead in her tracks, paralyzed with fear. Her mother slowly sat up; her upper body slumped against her lower.
Jaylynn couldn't find her voice, but she managed to croak out some words.
"M-Momma? Are you okay?"
Her mother replied, "I'm okay baby," her voice shifted a bit like she had mucus stuck in her throat,"I'm just fine."
Her mother then moved extremely fast and lunged at Jaylynn.
