It was lunch time and Max and I agreed just to meet in the cafeteria at noon. But it was almost 1 and he wasn't answering his phone so I just decided to eat and started leaving the cafeteria. I had another class at 2 and it was across campus. I hated backing out on plans, especially with my partner but sometimes I have to.
As I left the cafeteria and headed across campus, I heard frantic footsteps behind me and a hand on my arm. "Hey. Where you going?" I heard Max breath. I turned around to look at him. "Well considering it's now..." I paused to look at the time on my phone. "Now 1:15, an hour and 15 minutes past our lunch date, and it takes me 20 ish minutes to get to my next class since it's across campus, I decided to eat and go. Since you weren't here." I said and started for the building my class was in.
He grabbed my hand. "Babe. I'm sorry. I had a test to take at 11 and the teacher kept me well passed noon to talk. I sprinted to get here." He said. I felt tears prick my eyes. "We just don't get to see each other as much as we did.." I whispered. "Alice. I'm sorry."
I looked up at him. "When you have time to spend with the person who loves you most, then let me know, Maxwell." I pulled my hand out of his and ran off, before he could say anything.
Sorry this chapter is short. But ya. I threw you a curve ball. Ooh!!!
