Max
It's been 3 days since I last heard from Alice. "God dammit!" I yelled and threw my pillow. "Why am I such a screw up?" I asked myself. The door to my dorm opened. "Is everything okay, Maxy, baby?" Sandra asked.
I glared up at her. "Out! Get out! I broke up with you." I growled as she came closer. "Whether you broke up with me or not. I don't give up on things I want. And you're what I want." Sandra said and bit her lip and straddled my lap. "Come on Maxy. I know you want me." She said seductively and unbuttoned the top of her shirt. "I said OUT!" I pushed her off of me and pointed to the door.
She groaned and got up. "If you don't get your freak of a girlfriend back, don't think you can get me back." She snapped and left. "I don't care!" I yelled.
Alice
After I broke up with Max, I've felt 10x better. Actually I've been feeling a lot better. And I'm guessing it's scaring Christie because she asked if I was okay several times. I would always say ya.
I've gotten 5 texts since yesterday from Max but i haven't checked them yet. "Aren't you going to see what Max wants?" Christie asked. "Nope. Not one bit." I said while reading huckleberry Finn. "I don't care what he wants."
I turned the page and continued reading. "A, this isn't healthy. I know you're hurting. So just come on and talk to him. Tell him how you feel." She told me. I put my book down. "He knows how I feel. I'm mad and that's that. He didn't talk to me for 2 weeks straight and when I went to give him clothes, I saw another woman who had come from his room and she told me they just slept together."
Murphy laid on my lap and fell asleep. He was getting bigger by the day. But was still as cute as he was when I first got him.
There was a knock on the door than a letter slid through the crack at the bottom. Christie and I both looked at it and she went to go grab it and looked at the front of the envelope. "Its for you." She said and handed it to me.
I opened it and there was a note.
You don't know who I am. But meet me at the park next to the school.
I scrunched my nose but decided to go anyways. "Come on Murph. Let's go for a walk." I said, got up and hooked his leash to his collar and left my dorm room.
We got to the park next to the school which was only 5 minutes walking distance. But took ten because Murphy had to stop at every pole we came across.
I looked around and saw a blanket, a picnic basket, and Max standing there next to the things. I huffed and turned on my heel. "Come on Muphy." I said but Murphy barked and his leash slipped out of my fingers as he ran to Max and jumped up.
"Hey, buddy." Max said as he held Murphy. "Why'd you ask me here?" I asked. Max put Murphy down. "I wanted you back. I don't know why I got mad. I know I hurt you but I love you. You've been my partner for 6 years, Alice. I want you to be my partner forever."
He gave me puppy dog eyes. I was mad at Max but we are both human. "Okay Max. I don't forgive you fully but I'll start to." I told him and kissed him. He kissed back.
"I know it's kind of fast and you'll probably say no but..." He fumbled to get something out of his pocket and he knelt down on one knee. "Alice. Will you marry me?"
