There was complete silence between the both of us. The only noise was the pouring rain beating on the truck. My anxiety worsened the longer he waited to speak. I had no idea what he wanted to talk to me about and for some reason, I felt like I was in trouble. He was looking at me the way a father would glare at his child before scolding them.

"Last night... You lied to me." Negan finally spoke. I furrowed my brows in confusion. "Don't give me that confused ass look. You were crying so hard last night and I know it was because of that little fuck-wad, Erik." He growled.
"Yeah it was... I told you he was just a little bit moody."
"Bullshit!" He snapped, making me jump. "I want the whole truth, goddamn it. Now tell me, what really went down in that fuckin' room?"

I still kept my head down. "He may have slapped me but... It's no big deal. I told you I can handle it myself, Negan."

He went quiet and rubbed his face irritatedly. "He fucking slapped you. I told you that I'm not giving that asshole a second chance!" Negan started the truck as he continued to rage. I knew what that meant. Erik may have been an asshole, but I still didn't want him to die all because I snitched.

The thing was, there was nothing I could do to stop Negan from getting rid of Erik... Well there was one thing.

"Negan! Please don't do it! I'll..." I trailed off before saying it.
    "You'll what?"
"I'll let you have me as your wife like you wanted, that way I can be safe with you. I'll be away from Erik. Just as long as you let him live."

He paused at my words. "Fuck... That's one hell of a deal." Negan itched his head. "Why the hell not? I'll get to have you all to my fuckin' self! But this is the last time I'm sayin' it, if he screws up again then he's gone. You won't have any contact with that dumbass fuck-head."

"Wow... So I'm married!" I said, unsure of how to feel about my sudden marriage.
"Hell yeah you are." He said with a smirk. I could tell he was still upset about not getting to kill Erik though.

I took a sigh of relief, knowing that I'd just spared Erik. But I knew that Negan would expect a lot from me as his wife. I tried not to think about it though.

Growing up, I'd always imagined what my wedding day would be like. I never would've imagined it to be in a truck during the apocalypse.

As we drove, we talked about things like how we've been coping in the apocalypse. He seemed to handle it pretty well of course, considering he's the leader of the sanctuary. I told him all about my old community and what I did there.

Every morning, I'd play with the children and then help cook for all the people. We were such a tight knit group that we had every meal together. There was never strife between any of us. It was peaceful humanity almost like the way things were before.

"It'll be dark by the time we get back so if you get tired, you can lay your head on my lap." He winked. I rolled my eyes at his attempt to be slick.

"Nice try, but I think your shoulder will do for now." I said softly as I scooted close and leaned my head on him.

(Time Skip...)

The storm had gotten worse and continued on into the night. When we got back, it was super late and I was starving. So, I went to the mess hall to grab some dinner with Dwight. No one else was there except for two workers who were cleaning up the place.

"So how'd the talk go?" He asked, biting into a sandwich.
"At first it was a little rough... Negan's not too fond of my ex-boyfriend Erik so he really wants to kill him."
"Yep, sounds like Negan." Dwight replied.
"Yeah... But we made a deal and to make a long story short, I'm his wife now."

Dwight's eyes widened. "I totally saw it coming. Of course he'd add you to his collection of beautiful wives." He laughed.

I paused at his words. Wives... plural! Dwight seemed to notice my confusion. "He didn't tell you he had several?" He asked. I shook my head no. For some reason, a part of me almost felt hurt because he never told me there were others. The only reason I became his wife was for Erik's sake, so I figured I'd just have to deal with it.

"Well... You'll loosen up to the idea. I know my ex sure has."
    "Your ex?" I asked.
"Yeah, she married Negan to prevent him from killing me. He didn't think that the punishment was good enough though... That's what led to this." Dwight pointed at the burnt side of his face.

I realized how similar his situation was to mine and Erik's. It made me wonder if Negan would do the same thing. "I'm sorry." I spoke softly.

After finishing up dinner, Dwight and I went our separate ways for the night. When I turned down the hall to my room, I saw Erik standing at my door. He was leaning against it, basically crying. "Come on, baby I know you're in there. Just please open up, I'm so sorry for being an asshole." His words were slurred. Obviously, he'd been drinking again.

There was no way I could go to my room with him hovering around the door, so I quietly turned back around. I had no where to go and all I wanted to do was go to sleep.

Thunder could he heard in the dark hallways from outside which gave me an uneasy feeling. Knowing that Erik could find me any second definitely didn't help. Being alone made me even more vulnerable so I began speed walking and found myself in Negan's hall. Hopefully, he'd let me stay with him for the night since there was no telling when Erik would leave my room.

I knocked on Negan's door, still glancing around to check my surroundings. After a few seconds, he finally answered. "What are you doing up so late, doll?" He asked. If he knew what Erik was up to, he'd flip.

"I just don't want to be alone tonight. Can I... Sleep with you?" I muttered, looking down at my feet. Negan peeked his head out and looked around the hall as if he were suspicious of something. Then he grabbed my hand and gently pulled me into the room. "Sure, come on in." He said softly.

Once he closed the door, I already felt safe. A huge weight lifted off my shoulders knowing that I'd be in good hands for the night.

He allowed me to take a shower and put on one of shirts and shorts. Then I laid down in his gigantic, comfy bed. I couldn't help but notice that it had his masculine cologne scent all over it. With a smile, I snuggled up into his thick blanket.

Negan got up from his desk that was full of papers and laid down beside me. "Holy hell, none of my wives ever come over just to cuddle. They always want a hell of a lot more than that." He teased. I giggled at his comment as I rolled over to face him. We both just gazed into each other's eyes in total silence.

There it was again. That look that he'd been giving me. It made me go weak.

Negan suddenly pulled me close up against him with his strong arms. His face was just inches away from mine. He kept looking down at my lips as if he wanted to kiss me. I so badly wanted him to until I remembered that he had other women. Plus, we'd only met just a few days ago. So, before he could do anything, I snuggled my head in the crook of his neck.

A small groan of disappointment arose from him. "Oh come on, doll. I know you want me to fuckin' kiss you." He said.

"Maybe later." I cooed into his neck with a teasing tone.

"Shit... You're a pain in the ass, but you're my pain in the ass now."
