When I woke up the next morning, I felt out of place. I'd gotten so used to the sanctuary that it was as though my body thought that's where I'd be waking up at. To clear my head, I went to the bathroom and splashed some water on my face. "Get your shit together, Arabella." I muttered to my reflection in the mirror.

I freshened up, ate breakfast, and went out. The sun was shining beautifully while two women took a casual stroll down the street. Other than a few birds chirping, the place seemed quiet and pretty calm.

Rick walked up the street towards my house, looking pretty serious. Something about him was actually kind of intimidating. He carried himself like a police officer or sheriff would... Maybe that's what he was before the world went down. "Good morning." I called out with a small smile.

"Mornin'. Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions?" He replied.
"No not at all." I tried hiding my nervousness but more than likely failed.

We sat on my porch as he began to question me. "Why did you decide to come here? There's plenty of other colonies that are on Negan's supply route. So why did you choose Alexandria?" He asked in a low voice.

I had no idea that Negan had taken from communities until the day before. Plus, I wasn't even aware of how many other places there were. "I don't know... I overheard him talking about Alexandria. Things happened and I needed to get out so, this was my go-to. Is that a bad thing? It's not like I'm some kind of spy." I sassed.

The tone he'd been giving me wasn't something I appreciated very much. So, he would just have to get a taste of his own medicine.

"It's just hard to trust people now days, is all. Especially Negan's people. He's killed four of ours so far. Two took the bat, the others were gutted and shot. We can't handle anymore losses so if you have bad intentions, just admit to it now before things get bad for you."

"Rick! I told you I'm not going to do anything." I spat. He was practically interrogating me. The stern leader eyed me suspiciously until he finally stood up to leave. Before walking off the porch, he paused.

"Negan is probably going to go looking for you, you're too much of a potential danger to this place. If I have to kick you out for our safety, than I'll do it without hesitation." He left me with that to think about.

I stared down at my twiddling thumbs, still not sure what to think about what he just said. He made it seem like I was worth nothing. It made sense that he wanted to protect his group but he was so unwelcoming. "Whatever..." I muttered to no one but myself.

After doing some basking in my own self-pity, I got up to take a walk. People still gave me some weird stares. "Is that the one that Rick said to be careful with?" A woman asked her friend, while looking straight at me. I began to approach with her with a kind smile to change her mind.

"Trust me, ma'am I-" I tried defending myself but was only cut off.
"You don't need to come any closer. We know where you're from. Stay away from us!" She shouted, causing bystanders to eyeball me like I had attacked them or something.

One Hispanic girl approached us. "Is she causing trouble for you guys?" She asked.

"She just had us worried is all. We can't trust someone who's been on Negan's side."
"I can handle it for you. I don't even know why Rick let her in anyways." The girl spat, glaring at me as she spoke. They were talking about me like I wasn't even there!

"What the hell is you guys' problem? I haven't done ANYTHING!You're all assholes for treating me like this anyways so fuck you!" I shouted in the girl's face. Within the blink of an eye, her fist was crashing right into my face.

I stumbled back for a second, stunned at what had just happened. Then, I got angry.

Without another thought, I tackled her onto the ground. She tried anything to fight back, her nails dug into my cheekbone and she even tried digging a finger into my eye to blind me. I twisted one of her arms behind her back causing her to let out a scream. To finish her off, I gave her the hardest punch I could possibly give.

"Rosita!" Someone screamed for her in a horrified voice.

Once I felt her body go limp underneath me, I knew she was knocked out. That blind rage had taken over me and I didn't even realize the damage I was causing. Rick definitely wouldn't be happy with me.

Suddenly, someone yanked me off of her and threw me hard onto the sidewalk. The same side of my face that was scratched up had scraped the concrete. I knew my face had to be a bloody mess by now. Rick roughly lifted me up by the collar of my shirt. "What did we just talk about?!" He growled.

His face was so close to mine that I could feel his spit spraying on me as he spoke. "I'm sorry but I wasn't just going to sit back and let her punch me like that!" I yelled.

Rick glared at me for a few silent moments and then released his grip. I plummeted back onto the ground as he began to walk away. By then, almost the whole community was watching the scene unfold. The way everyone looked at me made me feel like I was on some humiliating display.

"Rick what are we going to do about her?" A man asked him. Everyone was frantically rambling on about me to Rick, demanding justice to be served.

I've never been more hated in my life. Going to Alexandria was a huge mistake. It was so stupid of me to even think they'd just let me in with open arms. I had no where to be anymore.

"You know what?" I shouted. They all turned to me with wide eyes. "I never should have stepped foot in this damned place. For some reason, I thought you guys would have at least some compassion for me. It was such a dumb idea."

The people stayed quiet as if they were waiting for me to continue, even Rick. "I've gone through so much this past month, but this definitely tops it off. I'm done... I should just leave." I stormed off back to my house.

"Arabella wait!" Michonne called out to me.

By the time I got to my porch, she caught up to me. "Michonne look I-"

"I understand. You were just sticking up for yourself. I'm sorry about the way everyone is treating you. I'll even talk to Rick about it, but please reconsider and just stay. You're safe here." She said sincerely.

I looked down at my feet, unsure of what to say. "Thank you but... I don't even know what to do at this point. My whole life has gone to shit. Just give me some time to think about things." I replied and headed for my front door.

"Wait, I think you're gonna need this." She tossed a white container to me. "As soon as I saw the blood I went to grab it." Michonne continued. Inside of it was rubbing alcohol, bandages, and a small cloth to clean up with inside.

"Thanks. I really appreciate it." I offered a small smile and went inside to clean my bloodied face.

Despite Michonne offering some comfort, I was still miserable. I missed Negan now more than ever. Even if I did go back though, I knew he'd be pissed at me beyond belief for leaving like that. I kept telling myself that he was probably over it and had been back to screwing the other wives. Therefore, I had to try and get over him once and for all.

-- Hello!! I was going to have Negan's point of view in this chapter but I figured it would be better to have Arabella go solo. There won't be a lot of contact between them two for a while but I promise things will still be amazeballs. 😉 I hope you've enjoyed it so far! --
