I'm sitting up in my room, on my bed, having just run out on my mums 'comforting' hug, and was now debating on what I wanted to do. Great. Fan-FUCKING-tastic! FIVE MONTHS? And she said at the least. Didn't she? UGH! I can't believe this! It's going to be mega awkward! I'm just gonna ignore him. Or greet him like it's our first ever meet. Or maybe just act like a crazed, annoying fan. Or maybe I could tell everyone where he'll be staying and he can be swarmed... I still like the first option. Ignore him!
I sighed as I got up from my bed and grabbed my mobile from my computer table. I called Kelsie, my other best friend. Kelsie and Stacey were the only two people who took interest in me when I came to their school that first day, and since they introduced themselves, we've been best friends. But Stacey just moved away, after three years of solid bestfriend ship. But she only lives an hour away, and though she has to change schools, I'm mega thankful she didn't have to move half way across the world, to 'peruse' a career of hers. I felt myself get all angry at the thought, but dropped it when Kelsie answered.
"Heeeello, my very sexy Jadeeeee." Okay, Kelsie was the hyper one out of the three of us. Stacey was the party-goer, and I was the normal, sane one. Mostly. Okay; hardly. But still, I was the most responsible. "Keelsssie, how'd you know it was meeee?" I whined like a little kid. "Caller I.DDDD TELLITUBBI!" She laughed at my stupidness, and I laughed at her nickname for me. You know the vacuum from the Tellitubbies? Yeah, well, I LOVE cookies, and apparently I suck them up like the Tellitubie vacuum. "So, what's cracka-lackin' my home girl?" She asked me, acting like a gangster, causing me to laugh again.
I suddenly heard a booming guys laugh, and I froze. I heard Kelsie telling the voice to shut up and get out. "KELSIE? OMG YOU DID A GUY? WHO IS HE?" My bestfriend/gossip side kicked in. "EEEEW JADE! THAT'S MY COUSIN!" She shrieked, obviously disgusted. "Oops." I laughed out, causing her to laugh too. "Anywaaaay..." She dragged out, continuing. "What'd you want babe?" She asked me curiously. "Oh, I was wondering if you could come over. I have BIG news. Like, BIGGGGGGGG!" I told her. "HOW big?" She asked concerned. "Um, HOLLYWOOD BIG!" I practically yelled. "I'm on my way!" She shrieked, and then the line went dead. I guess it's true that you can always count on your bestfriend to be there for you; no matter what.
I jogged down the stairs to go and wait for them, and I saw mum grabbing her hand bag. "JAAAAD-" She started to call out to me, but I interrupted her. "Yeah?" I said from right behind her. She spun around quickly and out her hand over her heart and dramatically sighed, and said jokingly, "Oh dear, you put my heart through quit a scare there!" I laughed and she laughed with me, before telling me she was going to the shops and asking if I wanted in.
"Can't, sorry! I already asked Kelsie over, is that okay?" I asked her, forgetting to ask my mum in the first place. She laughed and said, "But of couse," In a failed attempt at a British accent. I laughed, and then the doorbell rang continuously. Mum and I walked out into the hallway, which led us to the front door.
I saw Kelsie facing away from me, looking at someone and arguing. I couldn't see who though.
"Kelsie! You don't just walk through someone else's HOUSE!" They guy was saying in a deep voice. Shit, he sounded hot! Kelsie shrugged her shoulders, "The door was unlocked." She told him, and I looked at my mum, and we were both trying not to laugh at my careless friend. For all she knew, we weren't home and the door was only unlocked because a mass murder had broken in and was waiting for someone to arrive home! Oh yeah, I had the imagination! But I guess I needed it, it came as a package with the art.
"Well I'm not coming in! I'll wait until I'm invited in. Or at least until THEY open the door!" The guy told Kelsie stubbornly. Kelsie just shrugged her shoulders again. "Whatever, what's mine is hers! She won't care. OoooOoooh, I wonder if Mum's home... I need to see how her work dinner went. I wonder if they liked her dress..." Kelsie trailed off, and turned around. (Kelsie had helped my mum get all pretty and everything for one of her works dinners. My mum's a counselor, just in case you didn't know),
Then Kelsie turned around and saw us, and then she smiled HUGELY. "JADDDDDDEEEE!" She yelled and laughed. My mum and I couldn't suppress our laughter anymore, and we both broke down laughing. I ran at Kelsie and jumped on her, giving her a big hug. I mean I know it's only been, what, like, two days? But I missed her! I jumped down from her after a minute, and then she ran over to my mum, and they started talking and gossiping about the dinner. I'm glad my two best friends are close to my mum as well as me, it makes it easier then when a mum hates their child's best friend over some silly thing like 'influences'.
I went to turn around and walk over to mum and Kelsie when I remembered the guy. I turned around, realizing it must be Kelsie's cousin. I looked up to find him smiling at our little scene, and leaning against the door frame. Daaaaaaamn! Was I right, or what? He was the biggest babe I'd ever met! With his somewhat scruffy blonde hair, and nice, summer grass green eyes, I couldn't help but stare. But then I snapped out of it after a minute, to find him smirking at me.
His foot was over the threshold, and so I decided to joke with him. "Well, considering you're already in my house without invitation, you may as well come in." I laughed at his shocked face, and watched it follow down to look at his feet. He looked back at me and smiled. "My bad," I laughed and said, "Don't worry; I was only joking. Come on in." I told him, and he followed me to where my mum and Kelsie were.
"Sally, (my mum), Jaaaaaaade," Kelsie started, dragging out my name. "This is my cousin Nate. Nate, these are my bestfriends. Well; bestfriend and best-mother-friend." Kelsie said, confusing herself. This caused me and my mum to laugh, and then Kelsie snapped out of it, saying, "Well, yeah, anyways. This is Sally," She gestured to my mum with her hands. "And this is Jaade, my bestest friend in the whole world..." She said, inclining her head at me. "She's off limits buddy!" My mum and Kelsie said in unison, both sounding motherly.
I looked at Nate, and he looked at me, and we both laughed at their tones and the coincidence that they both said it at the same time. Mum and Kelsie joined in, and then two minutes later, mum left.
Kelsie turned to me, rolling her eyes and, once again, inclining her head, though not to me, at Nate. "Sorry about Mr. Tag along here, but he's staying at mine a while, and it's fathers rules that I don't leave him out." She rolled her eyes again after she explained to me. Kelsie and her father don't get along as well as they could, I mean, it's not as though they hate each other, it's just that they sometimes fight a lot. It makes me a little jealous that she has a father, but sort of abuses the privilege, but maybe she thinks the same as me. She doesn't speak to her mum; she walked out on Kelsie and her father when Kelsie was five years old. Kelsie doesn't even remember her mum. This made me feel a little guilty. At least I could remember my dad; Kelsie couldn't remember anything about her mum, especially since she was only five. But Kelsie says it doesn't bother her, that whoever thinks they're too good for her and her dad aren't worth her time. And I know she means that, but I also know she does get sad a little from time to time. I'm pretty close to her dad and her to my mum, so it's pretty... weird. But it's pretty cool too. She has what I need a dosage of sometimes; a father, and vice versa. And so sometimes we swap. And the best part is, the rents', [RENTS';PARENTS. My four sisters, my baby brother and I say that! :D. Anyway, back the story!], don't even mind.
"S'okay!" I told Kelsie while smiling. I'm actually, SECRETLY, [SO SHH!], glad she did. He's goddamn sexy!
