I led Kelsie and Nate up to my room after grabbing them a drink. Kelsie was bouncing off the walls, and Nate was just giving her weird looks, as in, what the fuck? I was silently laughing to myself, but at one point I couldn't hold in my laughter when Kelsie swung her hands up over her head, acting like a ballerina, and then Nate had muttered something about freaks and the shows they could put on. This just made me burst out laughing at their lack of love for each other. Then they both just looked at me, Kelsie with a curious glint in her eyes and Nate looking entertained. I shook my head and walked ahead of them, having been behind him.

We got to my room, and Nate just stood at the door while Kelsie ran over and jumped on my bed. I looked at him with raised eyebrows, and asked him, "You can come in, you know?" I smiled at him. He smiled back and nodded his head, following me in. Naw, what a gentleman!

I plunked down on my bed and he done the same, and immediately Kelsie bombarded me. "It's him, isn't it? What's happening? Did he call you? SPILL!" She rambled out fastly. I sighed and lay down, getting comfy. She done the same, and Nate just looked between us too, utterly confused.

I sighed again before briefly explaining. "Turns out Mr. Big Star Celebrity's half-uncle passed away, which is sad, but now Cathryn and her husband need to go to Ireland for the funeral, and Cathy needs somewhere for Mr. Big Star Celebrity to stay, because she doesn't want him in Hollywood by himself, or even with 'mates', cos she thinks he needs a break, in other words, he'll run haywire, and so now he's being shipped off to us. And you wanna know the worse?" I looked over to see her eyes big in shock, (she knew who I was going on about, I told her and Stacey all about it), after I'd told her, and asked her if she knew the worse of it.

"...What?" She whispered, and I could tell she was in utter shock. This is why I love Kelsie; she's ALWAYS there for me. I looked at the clock, and it read 4:28pm. "Mum said he was coming in two days, right? This means soon... He'll be getting on the plane." I felt tears well up in my eyes. Kelsie, next to me, sat up and then pulled me up after her, bringing me into her. She sighed as she hugged me. "Is that the worse part, hon?" She asked me after a minute. I shook my head, and softly whispered, "No..." I waited half a minute before I continued, and then turned to look at her. "He's staying for, at least... Five whole months." I whispered to her, and I felt the tears I'd tried to keep back fall from the brim of my eyes.

Her eyes widened at my news, and her mouth opened ajar. But she quickly snapped out of it and hugged me tighter. I closed my eyes, and slowly the tears subsided. I think it was after about nine minutes of comfortable silence when Kelsie's phone started ringing. "Oh crap! Let me just get this, Jay." I nodded and moved out of our hugging position.

She left the room, and only then did I realize Nate was there. I looked up to him; he was sitting on the end of my double bed, looking completely confused. I looked into his eyes, and saw concern. This just made me sad. Why couldn't I have someone like him at a time like when my father passed? I started to sob again, and I closed my eyes as more tears fell. Suddenly warm arms were around me, and I opened my eyes to see Nate behind me. I closed my eyes and continued my sobbing, and he pulled me into his lap, comforting me. I put my head on his chest, and I was vaguely aware that I was getting big tear patches on his shirt, but I didn't care. And he seemed to not mind either.

I realized Kelsie must have come back in, because more weight came down onto the bed, and she brought my hands over to hers, and held them tight. "Jade... Look at me." She told me. I looked up to her, and she had tears in her eyes, which made me feel bad for making her feel bad cos of me. Does that make sense? "You can always stay at mine." She told me sincerely. "I just spoke to my dad," Her dad knows the position I'm in, too. Yeah, like I said, we're really close. "He said its fine; even for five months." I looked up at her and gave her a big hug, and then whispered, "I would. I'd LOVE to. But you know my mum; she'll want me to stay. She'll want me to try and make things better. She strives to see the good in every one; you know she'll make me try to find the good in him, too!" I explained to her. She nodded her head and pulled away from me.

"Jade, I know you can do this. I know that you'll be strong. You'll easily get through it. It's just a matter of not letting him get on your nerves. Who knows; maybe he's changed. And even though I doubt it, never think something impossible until it's not proved possible." She told me, and she was right. I knew she was, as soon as she said the first sentence. "You're right. I know, and I'm going to do just that. I'll ignore him, completely. If that doesn't work, then I'll go to faze 2. Shake his hand like we've never met." I said proudly. She nodded her head and smiled in encouragement. "That's good!" I smiled at her.

"Could, uh, someone, please explain, all of this to me?" Nate asked hopefully. "Later." Kelsie muttered to him, and gave me a kiss on my forehead. "We have to go now, dad's taking us out for dinner. Oh, did you want to come?" She asked me. I shook my head no. "Mum's bringing home Chinese, she texted my phone just before. She nodded her head, and then we all headed down stairs.

"Thanks heaps, Kels. You know I love you, right?" She laughed and nodded her head, hugging me again before skipping out to her car. "Thank you Nate. It's nice to meet you - and I'm really, uh, sorry about your, uh, shirt." I told Nate while looking at his top. "S'okay." He smiled and then continued, "And it was nice meeting you, too." He smiled again before following after his cousin.

I watched them drive off, both waving, and then went back inside, locking the door and running up stairs for a nice shower.
