There is A LOT of things wrong with society. The biggest thing that gets pointed out time after time is appearance. People are looking at the appearance of other people and weighing (solely on appearance) if they want to make a friendship/relationship. If its someone who is "beautiful" (in terms of society) more people would want to become friends with that person other than a person who is "ugly".
Honestly beautiful and ugly should define personality and not appearance. There are the days when everyone's grumpy and they have there ugly days (some more than others), but honestly everyone is genuinely beautiful in their own way.
No one deserves to be put down, because someone thinks one is "cuter" apperance wise. Honestly who cares if Joe is more attractive than John or sarah has better hair than meg or Stacy has better teeth than chris? Why is it that were willing to pick out the flaws and pass up the beauty in a person. Yeah joe might be more attractive, but John is so much sweeter, meg might not have better hair than Sarah but she can sing better, and Stacy might have better teeth than Chris, but she can never draw like he can. All the little details that make up a person from their favorite color to the dimple on their cheek is what makes them beautiful.
Beauty is glorified as this word that solely revolves around looks, but no one breaks it down to take in beauty as a whole. When something's beautiful it outstages the apperance and reaches further. No one looks into a person to map out all the great things surrounding them and it's depressing that that's what society has created. It's like saying nature is beautiful but no one knows why, when in all actuality everyone knows why. Everyone knows that it's all the little components in nature(from the soft breeze in the air to the amazing rain storms that patter softly against the rooftop) that make it truly breath taking.
Now imagine if we digested a person the way we digest nature. I guarantee things will not only be so much easier but they would make society a little more beautiful, and although its a small step, this small step could change someone's future forever. All I ask from anyone who reads this is please don't judge a book by its cover, it might just surprise you and become your favorite.
