After the date, Youngjae texts the other guys to see if they're at the hospital and then we make our way to meet them there. While we walk to the hospital, Youngjae holds my hand and strokes my thumb with this own and I feel comforted by it.
"Did I explain that Kay can't remember anything?" I ask him as we walk. "You fighting Jackson got me distracted I almost forgot.. I should have been there for her and I didn't even warn the other guys! She must be so confused..."
"Its not you're fault, don't worry, you'll be fine, she'll be fine, the guys will be fine, it'll get sorted out one way or another, I promise." He squeezes my hand tight, trying to comfort me.
"How do you always know how to make me feel better?" I ask him, poking his cheek with my finger, to which he louts which makes my heart flutter, he's so cute.
"We're here," he notes, pointing towards the hospital. There's a sudden rush of nerves, wondering what I'm going to be stumbling into - Kay can't remember being loyal to Jaebeom, there's probably something going down right now. Kay really liked Jaebeom as a person rather than as a bias - I could tell - but this changes things, Kay doesn't remember Jaebeom as just a person anymore.
"I hope Jaebeom won't be too sad..." I mutter from my thoughts, I earn a confused look from Youngjae, while he tries to work out what I said.
"Why would he be sad? Because Kay doesn't remember meeting us?" he asks, I don't really know the answer, because yes, it's because she doesn't remember, but it could also be because Jaebeom was never her 'bias' in the first place.
"I wouldn't know how to explain my thoughts to you, it's- Jaebeom and Kay were going to be a thing right? I wonder if this amnesia thing will change them...?" Youngjae nods his head in acknowledgement of my worries, he looks up at the building in front of us.
"Only one way to find out," he says, whilst pulling me towards the entrance of the hospital. We get inside the white building and find our way to Kay's room, only to find Mark waiting outside. He looks up at us from his intense stare at the floor, his eyes go wide with something that I can't really read well.
"I'm assuming you already knew?" Mark asks vaguely, I nod my head knowing exactly what he was talking about. "Why didn't you warn us?"
"I got distracted..." I look down at the floor with a frown. "I'm so sorry, what happened?"
"I don't know how to explain it, but I can't be in there," he tells me staring at the door. Youngjae and I share a look of confusion.
"Why?" I hear Youngjae ask him, he looks up to him suddenly and then back to the door.
"Oh just y'know, she gets weird with me in there, she's like a completely different person," I notice his expression towards the door, he's worried. "Yugyeom, Bam and Jackson are in there."
"Where's JJP?" I ask, but he shrugs his shoulders. I take a guess that Jinyoung is acting as a therapist for Jaebeom, because he must be going through a lot. I wonder if they found out about the thing I was thinking about earlier. I hope not, it'd break Jaebeom's heart.
"Should we go in?" Youngjae asks me this time, I nod my head and then I go back to looking at Mark.
"I think it'll be okay if I go in, she'll be more comfortable - she's terrible on her own in awkward situations," I smile at Mark to try and comfort him, and he gives me a short nod before getting up off of his sitting position on the floor.
I open the door to see Jackson styling Kay's hair into a braid, Yugyeom and Bambam chatting in the corner like everything was normal. I blink at them and wait for them to notice my presence.
"Oh, you're here, Georgia?" Kay notices me after a moment, I see her face light up because she most likely feels more comfortable now that I'm here. "Gee, you'd never guess who was here!"
"I mean, Jackson Wang is braiding your hair right now, so I probably could guess, haha," I play along with her excitement - not wanting to stress her out. Jackson looks at me for a moment but then goes back to focusing on braiding Kay's long hair.
"Well, Mark was just in here, I was screaming internally, I couldn't even make proper sentences, like there was just something stoping my ability to form words. It felt like a block in my throat because I was also trying to hold in my squeals. He's so cute in person I almost died, he's so tiny but he's so tall, I'm in love, Georgia, hold me," she lets out all her thoughts now that she feels more comfortable, it's not until the entire room goes silent that she notices Mark behind me and then I see her face contort into a mixed expression of embarrassment and self-hatred.
"Uh, right, so, there's some things we should probably talk about," my words cut like a blade through the silence and tension in the air. The room suddenly felt cold, as if no one had been breathing - it was a rather spooky experience. "You've met GOT7, so there's a start-"
"Jackson explained it to me, which is something you failed to do, might I add," I see Jackson blink at me once, and then look back at Kay's hair. As Jackson plays with her hair she just stares at me and then she moves her attention to my and Youngjae's hands together. "I heard that you're dating, I don't know whether I should approve since your boyfriend started threatening my baby Jackson for no reason," she strokes Jackson on the side of his face but he just continues to braid her hair - I think he's been redoing the same part over and over again so he has something to do in this situation. "I'm apparently close with Jaebeom, for some reason, I don't know why my best friend would let me be disloyal to my actual bias, but hey we'll just say it was my fault, right?"
"Kay-"
"And last but not least, we've been practically ignoring my poor children, Yugyeomie and Bambamie," she nods her head to the youngest guys in the corner who are just playing bottle flip over and over again because there's nothing much to do in a hospital room, but I guess they just want to be around to give Kay some moral support. "And you think it's okay for you to just waltz in here after going on a date with our Choi Youngjae here, completely forgetting about me until the last minute?"
"It wasn't for no reason, Jackson kissed her!" I hear Youngjae beside me yell - his reaction a bit late. I blink at him and then back to Kay.
"Oh, and you've changed our baby Choi Youngjae into an angry bean, where has the smol bean Choi Youngjae gone? I've seen him for like 2 minutes and all I've heard is him yelling, does that make sense?" she finalises her statement and then turns her body around to lay down and lean her head on Jackson's lap, he starts drawing patterns on her face with the tips of his fingers instead.
"Please leave, you're stressing Kay out," Jackson mumbles, not looking at me once while he focuses on de-stressing Kay.
"Fine, whatever.. Have you even spoken to Jaebeom?" I ask, she shakes her head without a word. I roll my eyes and leave the room to go and find the mentioned boy. I hope he's okay, Kay seems like a different person. I look behind me to see that Youngjae has followed me out of the room, but Mark has stayed inside.
"Let's find the other two... We have to figure this out."
