MissCris: ....O.O....

DOM'S POV

The pain is intense. It's like a drum is going off in my head and every vibrating bang echos with pain. Damn, what the hell happened? I don't even remember where I am. I can feel a warm liquid running down the side of my head and taste the bitterness of blood on my tongue.

Everything is quiet, all that I can hear is a buzzing in my ears and my shallow gasps as I try to breathe. I try to open my eyes but the sting from, what I guess is blood, makes me close them.

I groan as I move my arms and push against the steering wheel to get myself in a sitting position. The throbbing in my head gets more intense and a wave of nausea hits me hard. I gag and hold back the bile as I try to get more air in my lungs. Lifting my hand up I touch my forehead and feel a deep gash above my left eyebrow, wincing I lower my hand.

The snow is still falling heavily outside and the lights on the truck look hazy in the rush of snowflakes. I watch the snow fall feeling as if I'm in a dream, this can't really be happening. I mean, I was driving perfectly fine, the truck is built for this type of weather, how the hell did this happen? One minute I was talking with Jeremy and the next I was panicking to get control of my dad's 4x4.

Wait, I was talking to Jeremy. Jeremy. Jeremy.

A cold dread fills my aching body as I make my body turn to the passengers side of the truck. What little breathe I had regained leaves me again as I see Jeremy. His face is coated in blood and his right arm is bent at an odd angle, it's broken. I look at his chest and let out a tiny breath of relief when I see it move, barely, but move none the less.

I groan against the pain in my body as I shift to get my cellphone out of my pocket. My breathing is heavy and coming in short bursts as I feel my energy leaving me. When I finally manage to get my cell out of my pant pocket I have to lean against my seat to catch my breath. The pain is so strong and I can feel myself losing consciousness.

Willing my body to stay awake I dial 911 and wait for the operator. When she answers its all I can do to not cry with relief.

"Nine one one, what's your emergency?" the voice of the operator asks.

I have to try and swallow a few times before the lump in my throat passes enough for me to talk, "Th-there's been an ac-c-cident." I manage to get out.

"OK, sir are you injured?" the operator asks.

"Y-yes, I-I-I hit my head. B-but my fr-friend...he's really h-h-hurt. Please, hurry."

OK, sir do you know where you are?"

"N-no."

"Do you see any clues as to your whereabouts?"

I close my eyes as the darkness starts closing in on me. I can hear Aiden's voice, Promise me. Promise me you'll come back. No matter what, you'll always come back. I open my eyes and try to look outside. I promised him I'd always come back, I can't break my promise.

"Sir, sir, can you hear me? Sir?"

"Too much...too much snow." I respond in a weak breathless voice.

"Please, just try to see anything that might help us locate you."

I nod my head even though she can't see me. Squinting my eyes I look out the windshield for anything that can help me. All I see is snow, falling in swirls down to the ground like someone is shaking a salt shaker vigorously. My head is starting to hurt worse from my concentration and I can't see anything.

Turning my head to the right all I see is woods. Straight ahead is the road we came from but there's nothing to distinguish it. I turn my head to the left and that's when I see it. Two sets of lights. Headlights? No, not headlights. The lights to the memorial on York street that commemorates the fallen soldiers from our town. The lights are on every night, I had thought they were another car.
