The weekend slowly came to a close and we farewelled Harry's parents before the long journey home to London.

Staying at Harry's farm gave me clarity of what was important in my life. I now knew what I wanted. I knew I wanted my family. Not just my family as I now knew it but my future family. My future babies. I also knew I wanted Zac to be right there with me the whole way. He was my destiny. My past, my present, my future. There were no more doubts.

I managed to call Zac to reassure my love for him. I didn't want to tell him when I was arriving. That needed to be a surprise. I couldn't wait.

First though, I needed to tackle Ms Williams.

I knocked politely at her office door. She was on a conference call so I waited until she had finished.

"Brittany. To what do I owe this pleasure."

I sat down quickly and just said it all before I could back out.

I explained the situation in an eloquent and straight forward way. I hoped that I could persuade Ms Williams that this was something very important for me. My future with Zac rested on her answer.

"So you want to go back home so you can attend your good friends wedding. How quaint."

The way she said quaint made it sound like an insult rather than a compliment.

"I suppose I can allow you to take a couple of weeks off as long as you stay in touch with Harry via email and get your articles in on time. I'd expect you back here and ready to work though when you return. You still have a few months left on your current contract."

I couldn't believe it. I wanted to get up and hug her but somehow I sensed that it would be inappropriate. Somehow Ms Williams didn't seem like the hugging type.

It didn't worry me though. I was giddy with happiness. I was going back home to Zac.

Sitting back at my desk, Harry heard me sigh with happiness.

"I'm guessing it all went well then. So happy for you Britt. You truly deserve it. Let me guess though. Ms Williams is making you work while you are away."

He grabbed me in a friendly hug.

"Haha yes, I'll still be working but at least I get to see Zac again. I can't wait. Thanks so much for taking me to the farm. Meeting your parents and staying in their house really gave me a chance to think about what was really important in my life. I know now what I truly want. I love London. I love this job but I want Zac and I can't wait to start my life with him."

I looked over at his picture on my desk. I could taste the saltiness. Soon enough I'd be seeing him in person again.

I was starting to get used to the travelling. Fortunately the newspaper was able to get me upgraded to Business class. I was still technically on work time but at least I was comfortable. I quickly completed my assignments for the week. May as well make use of the long journey time.

I arrived home feeling refreshed and revived. Now that I had completed my work for the next few days, I could free my mind to concentrate on fun. The thoughts of seeing Zac again made my spirits rise. He had no idea I was coming. I couldn't wait to surprise him.

By the time I arrived at our home town the morning was just starting. As I drove through the town, I admired the blossom that was starting to bloom and the birds that were quietly chirping. I really didn't realise how much I really missed my hometown. It might not have the excitement of London but it was truly my home. It was early but I knew Zac would be down getting the garage ready for the day. My heart started to beat faster knowing I was getting closer.

I quickly parked the car and ran to the front door and furiously rang the bell.

"We're closed!" I heard Zac yell from the back. "Come back in a hour."

I stifled a laugh. He had no idea.

I kept ringing the bell.

"I said we're closed!"

He came out from the back office. His hair was slightly mussed and he had an annoyed look.

"What part of closed don't you... BRITT!"

Realisation came over his face. He quickly unlatched the door and ran towards me, grabbing me in a strong embrace and swung me around.

"Am I dreaming cause I never want to wake up!"

He then kissed me like he had never kissed me before. This was the longest time that we had been separated. I drank in his kisses, grateful for his touch. He never tasted sweeter than at that moment.

"I'm never letting you go Britt. You'll have to work here in the garage for the rest of your life."

I laughed as he finally put me down.

"Well that might be a bit hard when I have to return to London."

He stepped back.

"So how long are you here for? Are you back for Kai and Ronnie's Wedding?"

"I'm back for two weeks. Technically I'm still on work time so I'll need to make sure I get my articles submitted on time but I'll definitely be here for the wedding."

"Well we better make up for lost time then."

He the swept me in his arms again and I submitted to his kisses.

During my time back home, Zac and I decided to make concrete plans for our wedding. We set the date, organised the groom's outfits and catering and flowers. We did everything together except pick out the wedding dress. That was my decision and mine alone to make.

I knew exactly what I had in mind. This was a job for Talia, not Zac.

I decided that I would need to make the dress myself if I wanted it the way I envisioned it and with the help of my mum as well. That was fast becoming a reality.

I couldn't wait. Of course I'd be returning to London in the meantime but it made me happy to be coming back to something solid. Something permanent.
